UPDATE 6/5/2026
City of Raton Fog Seal
Chip Sealing Operations have been completed. Fog sealing scheduled for Friday and Saturday has been pushed to Monday, June 8, 2026, due to issues with the fog-seal tankers being unavailable. Beginning just after 8 AM on Monday, crews will begin the final process of the project, which is Fog Sealing. Once a street is fog sealed, it will not be drivable for about two hours. We know that this is an inconvenience, but it is a critical final step to completing the project. Fog Sealing will begin in the State Street area and progress throughout the day to Pimlot, Fuqua, Beery, Oliver Sagebrush, Meadow Lane, and ultimately to the Calle Del Luna neighborhood and surrounding streets. If we are not able to get all streets fog sealed on Monday, the work will continue on Tuesday. Street Closures will generally take place for four to five blocks at a time for an estimated 2 hours. The public is asked to use alternate routes when possible and to expect delays. There is nothing that can be done to speed the process up or allow for vehicles to pass over uncured fog seal without risking vehicle damage.
If you have any questions, please get in touch with City Hall at 575-445-9451.

Please help support Gilbert SanRoma on this worthy cause.

Fellow RRAC Troopers, January 2nd, I signed up for the American Legion USA 250 Challenge as a way to remember our 250 years of Freedom and raise funds to support Veterans and their families. Basically it is you pledge to walk at least 250 miles and raise at least $250 in donations. Being a 33 year Veteran my goals are to walk at least 2000 miles and raise at least $2500 by the cutoff date of July 4th. As of the end of May I have walked 1719 miles and raised $2440. I am in the home stretch of my challenge and seeking your support and donation to get me over the Hump. You can donate by going to my link https://tinyurl.com/3n6heaer I would really appreciate your support in this worthy challenge.

COL (Ret.) Gilbert N. San Roman.
