With the much-needed rain we've been receiving in Raton, our morning walkers and runners at Roundhouse Park have slowed down a bit. The wildlife, however, hasn't missed a beat!

This young bear was spotted checking out the park and looked ready to try out for the RHS Cross Country Team this season. 🐻🏃‍♂️

Remember, while it's exciting to see wildlife, please admire it from a safe distance and give it plenty of space.

Community Morning Bike Rides

The Raton Regional Aquatic Center Outdoor Recreation Program invites adults to join our Community Morning Bike Rides beginning July 20, 2026.

Rides will be held Monday through Friday at 7:00 a.m. around Round House Park. Adult bicycles are available for those who need one. We have a limited number of bikes, so please arrive early to pick up your bike.

Come enjoy the outdoors, stay active, and ride with us!

Raton Regional Aquatic Center and Roundhouse Park Temporary Closure for July 4 Fireworks Preparation

RATON, NM — The Raton Regional Aquatic Center and Roundhouse Park will be closed to the public on Saturday, July 4, 2026.

All roads entering and exiting the park area will be closed, and all walking trails surrounding Roundhouse Park will also be unavailable during this time.

The temporary closure is necessary to allow the crew from Do It Right Pyro to safely prepare and set up for the City of Raton’s annual fireworks display.

We appreciate the public’s understanding and cooperation as preparations are made to ensure a safe and successful community celebration.
