First run in 2009, the Grade 2 Charles Town Classic has quickly become one of the prominent early season stops in the handicap division and became the first graded race ever run at Charles Town, when it was held as a Grade 3 in 2011. It is a now a Grade 2 event with a purse of $1,000,000.

Thursday's card at Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races will feature a mandatory payout in the Charles Town 6-12 Jackpot Pick 6 wager. The jackpot sits at $101,971.

The takeout on the wager is 12%. The last comparable mandatory payout at Charles Town took place on November 12, 2025 and featured a carryover of $104,383. The final pool ended up at $773,714 that night, resulting in a positive player equity situation with $11,538 more than the gross pool being returned to bettors.

The Pick 6 starts in race 4 on Thursday with a scheduled post time of 8:25PM ET. The sequence features an average field size of nine runners per race not including horses on the also-eligible list.
