Happy National Best Friends Day!

There is no better way to celebrate your bestie than by conquering a challenge together. If you want to experience the energy of the Bristol Independence Rhode Race but aren't quite ready to tackle a solo half marathon, we have the perfect solution.

Our Two-Person Relay is the ultimate teamwork experience. Split the 13.1 miles, cheer each other on, and earn that finish line feeling together in America’s most patriotic town.

The Strategy:

Leg 1 (7.5 miles): Take on the historic downtown streets, starting at Independence Park and handing off at Roger Williams University.

Leg 2 (5.6 miles): Take the baton along the scenic coastline and bring it home to the waterfront finish line.

Whether you sign up as an All-Male, All-Female, or Co-Ed team, you both get the commemorative finisher medal, the race-specific tech tee, and entry to the post-race celebration at Pivotal Brewing.

Today is National Cancer Survivors Day. We’re celebrating the incredible survivors in our running community, those who used the pavement as a place to heal, reclaim their strength, or simply breathe.

If you’re a survivor, we celebrate you today and every day. If you feel like sharing your story or who you run for, we’re here to listen and cheer you on.

It’s go time. 3 miles of varying trails are between us and the finish line.

Reminder for runners: Bib pickup starts at 11:00 AM at the Vineyards. The race kicks off at 1:00 PM. Get there at least an hour early to check in, get settled, and warm up.

We are officially three weeks out from the Independence Rhode Races Half Marathon! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Rhode Races is proud to welcome back the Mt. Hope High School Cross Country team as a returning charitable partner for this year’s event. This ongoing partnership directly supports the high school athletics program, empowers the next generation of runners, and strengthens the vital, long-standing link between youth athletics and community-wide fitness initiatives. 🤝✨

RACE DAY IS TOMORROW

Tomorrow is the big day. We cannot wait to see everyone at Westport Rivers Vineyard and Winery for the Westport Wine Run.

Bib pick-up opens at 11:00 AM, and the 3-mile trail run kicks off at exactly 1:00 PM. Make sure to bring a valid ID for check-in so you can claim your souvenir glass, local wine, and full BBQ dinner at the finish line.

Rest up tonight, and get ready for a beautiful day in the vines.

Happy World Environment Day! 🌍💚 Ready to turn your steps into positive action for our planet?

At Rhode Races, we treat every day like Earth Day. We are excited to partner with the Eastern Rhode Island Conservation District (ERICD), an organization dedicated to protecting local natural resources, for our next post-race plogging event at the Independence Road Race on June 27 in Bristol!

If you have never tried it, plogging is the perfect combo of getting your steps in while picking up litter. It makes a massive, immediate difference. Just look at the incredible impact from our Spring 2026 races (Newport and Providence):

🏃‍♂️ 38 volunteer ploggers covered 49+ miles of race courses
🗑️ Over 220 lbs of litter collected, leaving the courses cleaner than we found them!

Westport Wine Run 5K Course Preview!

Here’s a quick look at the stunning 5K route we’ll be tackling through the gorgeous Westport Rivers Vineyard & Winery! You’ll be running along the scenic farm trails and finishing right amongst the vines. 🍇

Reward at the finish line: A commemorative wine glass, fresh wine, dinner, and live music on the lawn.
