Such is the day in the life of a pickleball addict here in the biggest little state in the Union, Rhode Island.
*8:30am. Set up 6 portable nets at the Bristol Town Commons Pickleball courts in Bristol, RI. We had over 54 players attend open pickleball. I lost count after that.
*11:00am. Greet Joe Kayata from NBC 10 Sports. Joe interviewed me about the rise in popularity of pickleball across Rhode Island. Interview was on the 6pm news.

*2:00pm. 91degF. Went to Cumberland Boys and Girls club in Cumberland, RI to lay tape for two pickleball courts for their Youth Pickleball program that will be starting up next Tuesday.
5pm. Got home. Totally exhausted but feeling good about the future of Pickleball here in Little Rhody.

Adult Beginner's Pickleball
For those interested, the Barrington Parks & Rec will be sponsoring two beginners clinics this summer.
Starting on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, I will be holding an ADULT Pickleball 101 clinic at the Kent Street Tennis Courts in Barrington, RI. There will be 2 sessions offered, One morning session beginning at 9:30am to 11:00am. And the 2nd evening session will go from 6pm to 7:30pm. There will be a separate registration for each session. These clinics will run for 5 weeks ending on June 1, 2021.
The clinics are open to residents and non-residents, but if you are interested in attending then please contact Michele Geremia for more information. Space is limited. There is a fee for attending these classes.

I just received the following email message. from USA Pickleball.

The 2021 Atlantic Regional has been postponed again because of health concerns. The new date will be June 24-26, 2022.

It's very important players check their USA Pickleball memberships confirming membership doesn't expire before July 1, 2022.

Oh well. It is what it is.
