Super excited to be able to make a small donation to two Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies this week!

Harvell Howard (CEO of BBBS Central Arkansas) worked hard meeting several of our existing clients, ultimately winning our HAYAH BINGO contest. Harvell’s energy and passion are so incredibly engaging. He is destined to make a huge impact on his community as he builds out his team and leans into his own uniquely beautiful wiring and design.

And Amber Leach (VP of Employee Experience for BBBS of Middle Tennessee, one of our current clients) had her name selected from a group of 25 clients who were kind enough to share their experiences with Hayah with the dozens and dozens of people trying to get BINGO by approaching them and asking questions about their work with us. Amber and I met a year ago at this same conference, and earlier this year she invited me to facilitate a Wellness Retreat for their staff. The two days I spent with them in Nashville are among my favorite days of 2026, and the opportunity to partner with them in the incredible work they’re doing is an honor and a privilege.

“In May 2026, Jay Parsons facilitated the majority of the agenda for our annual Big Brothers Big Sisters Lone Star All-Staff Retreat in San Antonio, Texas, and the experience was exceptional. The audience included more than 140 employees from across our six Texas markets, representing a wide range of roles, lived experiences, and perspectives. Our team includes in-office and virtual staff, employees who were in their very first week on the job, and others with decades of service—so the retreat planners recognize the unique challenges that would be faced.

Because the All-Staff Retreat is the only time each year that all Big Brothers Big Sisters Lone Star staff gather in person, it is critically important that we use the day effectively. Jay navigated the meeting agenda effectively and brought a facilitation style that was warm, genuine, sincere, and highly engaging. “I spent two days working with Hayah Consulting recently, and I’m still kind of processing how much shifted internally for me (in a good way).

Going in, I thought I had a decent handle on my “values” and strengths - but apparently I had just been skimming the surface. Jay has a way of asking questions that seem simple at first…and then suddenly you’re staring at the ceiling rethinking your entire life at 10am on a Friday.

What really stood out is how good he is at connecting dots I didn’t even realize were related. It felt like every other conversation led to a lightbulb moment — like, “ohhh THAT’S why I keep doing that” or “wait, that’s actually something I’m good at?” He made the whole process feel easy and surprisingly fun, even when we were digging into deeper stuff.

I walked away with a much clearer sense of my core values, the things that actually give me energy (not just what I think should), and a completely new lens for how I want to approach life moving forward.

If you know me at all, you know that I am so, so C-U-R-I-O-U-S! I simply cannot stop asking questions…trying to understand…wanting…needing to get to the thing behind the thing behind the thing. I shamelessly and aggressively CHASE knowledge - I simply have to know what makes things tick, and that multiplies exponentially when it comes to knowing and understanding people!!!

If you know me, you know I’ve not oversold this reality. And if you know me, I have to warn you, because now that I know Dan Uslan, things are about to go to a whole new level! You see, Dan not only matches my curiosity…Dan exceeds it, AND he is by nature and design a CURIOSITY ENERGIZER! Dan’s enthusiasm for learning stimulates and excites others to eagerly and passionately explore their world!

So, as he left my Collaboration Space Tuesday afternoon, I was buzzing with energy and pulsing with a need to explore my world! I felt totally and completely alive!

But Dan doesn’t just make people FEEL more alive, he actually uses his energetic curiosity to make people’s lives and journeys SAFER and SMOOTHER! He literally - by trade - identifies solutions that prevent disease and infection, allowing the rest of us to move through the world pursuing our dreams and desires, because he is innovating and inventing plans that fix genuine, human problems.

There’s much that could be said about Fred - he’s lived a pretty remarkable life and achieved the kind of athletic and professional success that tempts the rest of us to say, “I met a guy who ____________!”

I could tell you story after story about Fred that would leave you wowed and impressed, but honestly the most impressive, inspiring, and refreshing thing about him is that he’s kind…GENUINELY KIND…he intuitively sees and intentionally validates the inherent value in people, loves them for who they are, and encourages them to pursue and enjoy their unique identity and path. Or as Fred says it…

“I exist to nurture authentic acceptance and kindness by energizing growth and creating connections!”

I get to meet the best people! And that’s one of the biggest reasons I LOVE MY JOB!!! How cool is it that I get to do this for a living?!?!?!?!

Feeling so incredibly humbled, grateful, and hopeful after last week’s Owners Retreat in New York City! Interwoven into all of the shows, tours, and delicious meals was time spent looking back on and celebrating the last 5 years, as well as time spent imagining what the years ahead hold for Hayah and our clients! So excited to watch it all unfold, but what I’m most excited about and most grateful for is the ongoing support and encouragement of my amazing wife whose work founding and leading over the last 11 years has been and continues to be an inspiration to me!

Super excited to tell this story when the time is right! In many ways, it began with a chance encounter in the media room of a church 15-16 years ago, took a really fun turn 7ish years ago, and started gaining community-impacting, future-shaping momentum a little over a year ago…and these last 2 days, well, they put some high octane fuel in the tank as the story barrels forward into a new, crazy fun, life-giving turn! For the last 9 months, I’ve been proudly partnering with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lone Star, specifically working with their Interim CEO and long time CFO, Jennifer Scott, as she, their Executive Leadership Team, and Board navigated their CEO search and a merger.

So when they asked me to facilitate their All-Staff Retreat in San Antonio, I quickly rearranged my calendar to make it happen - the opportunity to deepen my relationship with this amazing team was one I simply couldn’t miss out on! That was 3 months ago…that was before they knew who their new CEO would be.

So when I found out last Monday that they’d officially offered the position to Jenny Harper and I’d not only get to meet her via Zoom on Wednesday, but that I’d get to meet her in person on Thursday minutes before she was announced to the whole team, my energy and enthusiasm went through the roof!

What made it even better was that Jenny was the only internal candidate they considered. For the last 7 years, she’s been the Dallas Market President; so when the announcement came Thursday evening, it was immediately met with a roar of applause! What a special moment!

Quick side note: Not only has Jenny been the Dallas Market president for the last 7 years; before that, Jenny was their Director of Match Support for 8.5 years, and before that, she was a Match Support Coordinator for 5 years. All told, she’s been part of Lone Star for 20 years!

So when given the opportunity to suggest a retreat superlative for the whole team to weigh in on, I suggested “Most Likely To Be Lone Star’s CEO in 20 Years,” and when a young woman named Simone was announced as the winner and made her way to the stage with tears in her eyes and a giant smile on her face, I found my face doing the same!

It’s moments like this with people like these that make me feel so humbled…so grateful…that THIS is what I get to do every day! I love my job!
