🏈 FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS + COMMUNITY SPIRIT! ❤️💙

Last night, the YMCA of East Tennessee was proud to celebrate Powell High School during the School Spirit Showdown!

At halftime of the game, Bill from our Tennova Family YMCA, had the honor of presenting a $250 check to Powell High School on behalf of YMCA of East Tennessee. 🎉

Our local Y’s are proud to support local schools, local athletes and local communities. Because strengthening our community doesn’t just happen inside the walls of the Y; it happens on the field, in the stands and alongside the schools that help shape the next generation.

We’re grateful for partnerships like our School Spirit Showdown with Star 102.1 that give us another opportunity to show up, give back, and celebrate the communities we’re lucky enough to serve.

And who knows… we might show up at YOUR school next week! 👀🏈

🏆🇺🇸 Celebrating Christopher Watson! 🇺🇸🏆

We are so proud of Christopher and his incredible accomplishments at the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games in Minnesota!

Since November, Christopher has been voluntarily trained by our very own Julie Smith, who generously gave her time, expertise, and encouragement to help him prepare for this amazing opportunity.

🌊 Summer may be over, but we're not done swimming!

We're excited to welcome Coach John Isaac to lead our Tennova Y's Fall Swim Clinic! With decades of competitive swimming and coaching experience, Coach John is passionate about helping swimmers improve their technique, build confidence, and develop a lifelong love of the sport.

Swim Clinic is designed for swimmers ages 5-17 and focuses on all four competitive strokes while improving strength, speed, endurance, and overall technique through fun, coach-led drills.

📅 Mondays (5 weeks) or Fridays (6 weeks) beginning August 24th
⏰ Intermediate: 6:00-6:45 PM | Advanced: 6:45-7:30 PM

Swimmers are grouped by ability to ensure they receive the instruction that's right for them.

215,565 meals!

This week, we crossed a milestone we've been working toward all summer: more than 200,000 meals served.

In Week 8 alone, our YMCA of East Tennessee Summer Meal Program provided 24,557 meals, bringing our summer total to an incredible 215,565 meals.

We're not celebrating a number. We're celebrating 215,565 moments of relief.

Moments when a parent didn't have to wonder how they were going to feed their child that day. Moments when kids had a nutritious meal to fuel their play, learning, and growth. Moments when families could gather around the table knowing there was enough.

To every volunteer, staff member, partner, donor, and family who has been part of this journey: thank you. Together, we're making sure that when school is out, food doesn't have to be.

It's not too late to volunteer and be a part of this incredible program in our community! These last few weeks of summer are when volunteers are needed the most. Choose a location, choose a day and time, and show up for local families!
