There’s never been more health information available — but knowing where to start is the hard part.

When it comes to bloodwork, not all testing is created equal.

Here’s our Good → Better → Best breakdown:

✅ Good — Your yearly physical through your GP covers the basics: cholesterol, A1C, key vitamins. Great for catching major red flags.

⚡ Better — Our partnership with offers ~100 blood markers analyzed through a performance lens — plus personalized recommendations on lifestyle, nutrition, and supplements. You can book a test + follow-up consultation with me directly.

🏆 Best — Our partners at (NW Portland) and Lake Oswego Health Center take it even further with fully customized bloodwork and medical plans tailored to your history, needs, and stage of life.

No matter where you start, having the information is powerful. And if the basics aren’t giving you the answers you need — it might be time to dig deeper.

Building lean muscle requires smart programming and lifting adequately heavy weights.

In honor of Women’s Health Month, we want to talk sets, reps, and weights - a critical part of midlife wellness.

Generally speaking, your main lifting sets should include four sets with 6 to 8 reps each, utilizing weights that are heavy enough that it feels like hard work.

But not too heavy that you risk injury.

If you’re new to weightlifting, or just unsure of your form or how to put it all together, we recommend working with a professional trainer.

We can help guide you to ensure you stay injury-free, while building strength and lean muscle mass.

We’d love to help. Give us a call today:

We often think of exercise as something we should do for our bodies—but the real magic is what it does for our minds.

Mood improvements can happen during or shortly after even just 10 minutes of activity, with even greater benefits seen in people who exercised 45+ minutes, 3 or more days a week

Here’s what the research actually shows:

✨ Exercise increases “feel-good” brain chemicalsIt boosts endorphins, dopamine, and serotonin—the same neurotransmitters targeted by many antidepressants. Translation: better mood, more motivation, less stress.

✨ It reduces symptoms of anxiety and depressionA major meta-analysis published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine found that regular physical activity can reduce depression symptoms by up to 30%—with effects comparable to therapy for some individuals.

✨ It builds long-term resilienceConsistent exercise helps regulate your stress response system, meaning you’re not just feeling better—you’re becoming more stress-resistant over time.

✨ It improves sleep (which improves everything)Better sleep = better mood, sharper thinking, and more emotional stability. Exercise helps regulate your circadian rhythm and deepen sleep quality.

The takeaway:You just need to move your body consistently.

💚 We’d love to help you with a routine to help your body and your mind. Give us a call: 503.353.0053.
