I wanted to start off by saying how great it was being able to bring static monsters to our small town in Michigan. I appreciate everyone who competed, who helped and who spectated. This sport and these events can't grow without everyone involved.
I do my very best to uphold these events to the highest standards. Athletes spend their money, train hard and take time to travel and compete. I take all of these things seriously when trying to put on a show. During this show there was a mistake made. An athlete reached out to me in regards to the deadlift weight. We came to the realization that all weights were 5kg heavier than was on the sheet. This is not the standard me and my team try to uphold at these events. This mistake is solely on me and me alone. I can not go back in time and correct my mistake but I will own up to it.
I teach all of my athletes that once trust is broken it is almost impossible to get it back. I understand if many of you may have lost a little trust in our capabilities, and I completely understand that. But I will do better and I will put more measures in place to assure this doesn't happen again.
So what has been done?
I have gone in and corrected each lift so all lifts have been added 5kg to their top attempt they accomplished.
I have contacted Static Monsters about this mistake and they are aware.
The numbers have been sent over to Static Monsters.
How do I make this right?
All athletes who competed and would like to compete in Feats of Raw Strength or any other strongman comp this year will get free entry.
I am putting different protocols to have others double check my paper work to make sure everything is correct.
If you would like to talk to me directly and discuss the situation, I would be more then happy to talk.
Again, if this mistake affected your lifts in a negative manner I do apologize. For those that hit a PR, you hit an even bigger PR then you thought.
You can DM me for any questions or thoughts.
