I'm ashamed that it took over 20 years of 190E ownership to recognize that when switching from HOT to COLD, it will take a while for the outer vent air to fully cool off since it's still blowing through a heater core full of warm water.
I kept feeling like "it just doesn't go back to ambient from the outer vents" and it wasn't until I verified the full function of the heater control valve that I recognized that the heater core will still be full of warm water for a while.
(Suction motor, temperature control panel, valve body, and heater control valve all functioning, air conditioning not functional.)

Adventure after adventure! After The Baron barely limped home Tuesday night, with an apparent fuel system problem, As***le decided to start giving me trouble Wednesday: a coolant hose that had already sprung a leak (and I cut off the compromised end and put it back on while waiting for a replacement hose) sprung another leak. A gallon of coolant here, a gallon of distilled drinking water from the gas station there got me home. Got the new hose on and set off across the state. That went fine except for not having any heat. The car had one of those "failsafe" thermostats that locks open when it gets hot. A 20 minute job to swap a new thermostat in turned into a couple of hours scrounging parts from the backyard junkyard and making a gasket to replace the stripped out thermostat housing. But hooray for spare engines! And we marked a milestone halfway across the state from home! Back on the road again!

Ford Racing opened up the new Ford Racing Experience facility in Dearborn for a sneak preview today! It kicked off with a car show and fun talking about cars, Ford and otherwise, then there was an official ribbon cutting, and we got to check out the displays of a HUGE wall of trophies Ford has won racing everything from NASCAR to drag racing to sports cars to off road.
It'll be open to the public like the Ford Store and Lincoln experience room, I think. It'll be cool to check it all out!
Got to enjoy a cool chat with Christopher Polvoorde and then enjoy brekky and the F1 Dutch Grand Prix.
It was a really cool event and wound up being worth getting up early for! Better luck next time, Max.

So much content I haven't been sharing is becoming stale. But The Baron is a fresh source of "fun"! We drove up and down the street yesterday!
Any clever ideas for making a 33 year old rear wheel drive car without Traction Control or Stability Control a winter be**er? I'm gonna give it max spring spacers for some extra clearance and snow tires (Toyos look like dirt track tires!)

OK, Michigan car fans, it's time for the annual "spot the uncommon car on Woodward" challenge for this year!
I was gonna make it easy, but....
If you spot a DODGE STEALTH or MITSUBISHI 3000GT, you're a winner! Yay for you! :D
These things disappeared so much before the internet era, that it's a challenge to find a good reference picture!
Keep your eyes on the road and the car in front of you, but enjoy the spotter challenge!
