Most karateka are taught that turns in kata mean “another attacker”.
But what if the turn is actually telling you something about positioning against the same opponent?

For the love of karate, tuck your butts 🍑 Keeping your stance low and your booties under your shoulders stand true for a strong base with good alignment.

Most of our students are learning Naihanchi katas right now and this seems to be Sensei’s #1 critique this round. Keep it up, kiddos! 🥋👊

We already know art comes in many forms - paintings, crafts, photography, food. Everyone always seems to forget sports. Generally, team sports play by all the same rules internationally. How many different forms of soccer, football, or baseball can you think of? 🏟️🏅

Not to brag, but they don’t call it “martial arts” for nothing ✨ Every culture designed and implemented their own martial art. All related but none identical, completely adapted by artists to fit their needs and preferences. THAT’S art 🥋🔥
