Today, the racing world lost one of its fiercest competitors. It is with the heaviest of hearts that we say goodbye to a true racing Icon, Kyle Busch.
Kyle Busch wasn’t just one of the greatest to ever strap into a race car — he was Stephen’s favorite driver growing up. He was the reason Stephen became the #51.
Back when Stephen was 13 years old and racing in the ASA Series, he had to pick a number from the available list. When he saw 51 was open, the choice was easy. That was Kyle’s number. That was his hero. And from that moment on, the 51 became part of Stephen’s identity. And to this day, every now and then, you’ll catch Stephen rocking the Kyle Busch styled 51 on his race car.
Kyle inspired a generation of racers with his fire, talent, intensity, and refusal to back down. For Stephen, that inspiration helped shape the beginning of a career and a number that still means everything today.
Our hearts are with the Busch family, Samantha, Brexton, Lennix, his team, his fans, and everyone in the motorsports community mourning this unimaginable loss.
Rest easy, Rowdy.
