SEPTEMBER AT THE CYCLE STUDIO
September is STRONGER EVERYWHERE.
On the bike, we will keep building endurance, strength, speed, recovery and control. But this month, we are also taking some of that strength OFF the bike.
KETTLEBELLS ARE COMING… there is a lot of information packed in here so take your time reading…
Introducing: KETTLEBELL FOUNDATIONS
I’ve been playing around with the best way to do this and I think I’ve landed on something that gives us enough time to actually learn while still making it doable for real life schedules.
Foundations will be two sessions and each session will be offered twice.
You can choose Thursday evening or Saturday morning each week.
FOUNDATIONS 1 - TENSION+HINGE+DEADLIFT+ SWING PREP
Thursday, September 10, 5:30-7:30PM
OR
Saturday, September 12, 8:30-10:30AM
We will start with breathing and bracing, tension, alignment, hinge mechanics, safe bell handling and the kettlebell deadlift. Then we will begin building towards the swing.
FOUNDATIONS 2 - SWING+SQUAT+CARRY+PUT IT TOGETHER
Thursday, September 17, 5:30-7:30pm
OR
Saturday, September 19, 8:30-10:30AM
We will review what we learned in Session 1, work through the two hand swing, add the goblet squat and loaded carries and start putting the pieces together.
I’m blocking out two hours for each session because I don’t want to rush this. We may finish in 90 minutes. We may use the whole two hours. We’ll take the time we need.
And just to be clear, these are not kettlebell beat down workouts. This is where we LEARN. We will slow it down. We will practice. We will repeat. We will make corrections. And I’ll coach the s**t out of you.
Current Cycle Studio riders and current training clients get first access.
There will be a sign up sheet in the studio where you can choose which days work best for you. You can also message me and let me know. It's free for current members. Everyone else $50 per session. Space is limited.
And if kettlebells aren’t your thing, you don’t have to do them. But if you’ve never done them, how do you know? They are pretty damn fun and an incredible strength tool.
For my former kettlebell clients who got VERY excited when I said the bells were coming back, I haven’t forgotten about you either.
I will offer a refresher/skills check option so you don’t necessarily need to start completely from scratch. And if there’s room and you want the full Foundations refresher, you will have that option.
I will also keep September 24th and 26th available if we need a catch up or additional refresher opportunity.
The goal isn’t to get through a couple of workouts.
The goal is to make sure you know how to use the bell well.
Ride strong. Lift strong. Move well. Get STRONGER EVERYWHERE. More kettlebell information options will be coming soon.
