I rode the 2027 Waveblaster this morning and it far exceed my expectations. I raced Blasters back in the 90’s and have spent most of my adult life buildng and developing personal watercraft race hulls and aftermarket parts along with being a Yamaha dealer for 16 years. Yamaha did an amazing job with this ski. It has the size and feel of the old blaster but with the performance and handling of what is equivalent to our best aftermarket blaster race hulls from the past. The ECU tune is spot on and feels way more sorted than the tune supplied with previous TR1 based models. Power is on par with our stock class E85 tune we use for racing. The 110hp HO motor is very good. The pump and prop set up honestly could not be better for an off the show room ski. No dead spot off idle. Super linear throttle response at all lever settings. Any blaster riders from the past will immediately feel comfortable riding the ski aggressively. The corner grip is insane and the ski can be ridden standing or seated. Overall super impressive. Yamaha knocked it out of the ball park with this ski.
We should have one of these ski here at the Kommander World Headquarters soon to continue the development of aftermarket racing parts soon. Many of our existing TR1 parts will already work on the unit (i.e. turbo kit and intake grate) but we will also build rideplates, steering and few items I feel we can help improve on an already amazing ski.
