Today, during my call with my business coach, Tasha, we were talking about learning to be okay with a little uncertainty and not needing to have everything 100% figured out before we move forward.

I thought about how true that is in so many areas of our lives.

Maybe you want to eat better, sleep better, have more energy or just feel a little more like yourself again.

It’s so easy to think we need to figure out the “perfect” plan before we start.

What should I eat?
What kind of exercise should I be doing?
What will actually help me sleep?
Where do I even begin?

But you don’t need to have all the answers today.

You can start with one small step. As a women’s wellness/menopause coach I’m here to walk with you and help you take that first step! We figure it out together.

And while you’re figuring it out, you don’t have to put your life on hold either.

Enjoy the beach. Go out with your girlfriends. Take the trip. Sit outside with your coffee. Laugh. Rest. Notice the beautiful things around you.

Life is happening while we’re figuring things out- but that doesn’t stop you from enjoy your life now.

I am 🥰 my family time at the beach-enjoying my life NOW and embracing a little uncertainty- it keeps things interesting😉

Are you one that sees uncertainty as an opportunity or does it cause angst?

Happy Labor Day!

I’m taking the a little break from the normal routine.

I talk a lot about taking care of ourselves and joy, rest, connection and simply enjoying our lives are part of our well-being too.

We don’t have to be productive every minute of every day!

Happy Labor Day! I hope there was something in your day that made you 😃

Faith & Flourish Friday 🌸

Sometimes, the lesson we’re helping someone else learn is the very one God is gently teaching us, too.

Recently, a woman I’m coaching told me she had been applying what I taught her about sleep. In just one month, she went from getting about five hours of sleep to enjoying eight hours of sound, peaceful rest! She was ecstatic and I could see it in her eyes how grateful she was.

I was SO happy for her!

And the funny thing is…I wasn’t sleeping well myself. 😂

But lately, that has changed.

These past two weeks, I’ve finally giving way to allow myself to rest. I hadn’t slept that well all summer, to be honest even though I’ve always been a great sleeper in the past.

I have a solid bedtime routine but I’ve also been working on something deeper: letting go of worry and trusting God more.

Releasing my fears and “what if’s” about the future has brought me so much peace and comfort.

I know God has a plan and purpose for my life. It’s not my job to lie awake worrying about how everything will work out. These are not my things to carry anymore! .

I can go to bed knowing I’m safe and secure. I can rest, knowing God’s got me and I’m trusting Him fully to work things out.

And let me tell you…sleeping with a peaceful mind makes such a difference!

Maybe the reminder I needed wasn’t just about getting more sleep.

Maybe it was about learning to rest in peace and trust. ❤️

What’s something you need to trust God with a little more right now?

Today I went to the dermatologist for my annual full-body skin exam!

This is one of those appointments I make sure I schedule every year.

As women, we spend so much time taking care of everyone and everything else, but taking care of ourselves means making these preventative appointments too.

My dermatologist checked my skin from head to toe to look for anything suspicious or anything that has changed. I got a good report👍

I asked her for her #1 tip for healthy skin- she said wear sunscreen every day! My go to brand is Sun Shield.

And my little reminder for you today?

If you have a body, you have skin worth checking! 😊

If you’ve never had a full-body skin exam, ask your doctor or dermatologist if it’s something you should be doing and how often.

Make the appointment. Put it on the calendar. Take care of YOU. 🌸

Now I want to know…what’s one health appointment you KNOW you need to make but keep putting off?

I ♥️♥️♥️ a good pasta salad. This one is super light and refreshing🧑🏻‍🍳💋. Something to feel good about when I eat it. I used fresh yellow tomatoes, basil and cucumber from my garden. I added fresh mozzarella cheese, salt/pepper, and for the dressing I used a mango vinaigrette (Trader Joe’s brand).
I find the yellow tomatoes are not as acidic as the red ones - easier on the gut😀

🎉 It’s official. My Facebook group for women in midlife is open!

I’m so glad to have it all put together, and I love how it turned out.

A lot went into getting here!

I spent time getting clear on who I wanted to serve, what women in midlife really want help with, and how to create a group that feels useful and welcoming.

I even put a lot of thought into the name, Renewed In Midlife- Menopause Wellness for Women of Faith, so the right women could find it.

Now I get to fill it with the kind of information I want women in midlife to have. The kind of information I WISH I would have had when I went through menopause.

We’ll talk about the physical, mental, social, and spiritual parts of this season. We'll tackle the hard stuff, and spur each other on, and laugh at some of the ridiculous things that we deal with during this stage of life.

As your Menopause Hope Dealer I will supply helpful videos, expert interviews, useful conversations, and information that is reliable, science-based, easy to understand, and practical to use.

Midlife can bring a lot of changes, questions, and conflicting advice.

My goal is to create a place where women feel welcome, can find information they trust, and have support from a caring and certified health coach as they move through this season into their Golden Era.

You are not alone, I see you, I hear you- the doors are open to you- join me sisters- Let's get your spark back! ❤️

Faith & Flourish Friday🌾

I saw this field on my walk they had just harvested the hay and it reminded me about the story in Proverbs about the ant.🐜

Proverbs 6:8 says the ant prepares in the summer and gathers its food at harvest. The ant goes about its buiness, it’s steady, consistent and stays on course to accomplish its goal.

It made me think about us -as women in midlife. What are we busy preparing? Are we steadfast and consistent with our goals? How are we storing up for a plentiful harvest later on in life- 5, 10, 15, 20 years down the road?

Staying the course for us, could be the small ways we care for our bodies, minds, relationships, and spiritual lives. It’s not just about feeling better today but also for the harvest in years to come.

And sometimes these everyday investments may seem small, in the grand scheme of things...but they matter! You matter!

Everyday choices ➡High Hopes for Our Future.
There’s a song maybe you’ve heard it called High Hopes🎵
“Just what makes that little old ant think he’ll move that rubber tree plant? Anyone knows a an ant can’t move a rubber tree plant.
But he’s got high hopes, he got high hopes, he’s got apple pie in the sky hopes.

So anytime your gettin’ low
Stead of lettin’ go
Just remember that ant:
Oops, there goes another rubber tree plant
Opps, there goes another rubber tree plant.

Tell me what you have High Hopes 😁for in the future and one good thing you are doing for yourself today. Comment 👇

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about friendship.

It started when I listened to a sermon from Pastor Rick Warren about being a good friend and attracting good friends and the reminder that God didn’t create us to do life alone.

Then I heard a conversation in Maria Shriver’s Sunday Paper about loneliness and podcast with Dr. Marisa Franco about being an “igniter” - to be willing to put yourself out there instead of always waiting for someone else to make the first move.

Those ideas really stayed with me.

Because the older I get, the more I realize how much our friendships matter.

I know mine certainly do.

I have faithful friends who have walked beside me for decades and newer friends who have come into my life more recently and bring me such delight. These steadfast relationships have sustained me through so many of life’s ups, downs, and trials.

So I started thinking about what we can actually DO when we want deeper friendships.

That led me to develop a little philosophy I call “GO First” along with “The Cup Check” exercise built around four questions.

And last week, I had the opportunity to take those ideas and teach them in “The Connection Cure”, two different presentations -one for my Faith to Table church affinity group and another for Launch Ladies, a Facebook group for women in business.

I loved getting to talk about something that has become increasingly important to me:

We were never meant to do life alone.

Sometimes building the connections we long for begins with being willing to GO First.😁
