Today we remember an Indian River legend. Sandy Overton was the architect of IRCSD athletics for 20 years. In his time he had a vision for excellence and growth that continues today. He celebrated Indian River success during his career and beyond as he could be seen tucked away in the stands watching as recently as last spring. He had a passion for competing that inspired athletes and coaches to do the same. There was nobody better to see than Sandy when you won the big game. He was tough and demanding, but always had your back.  He had a knack for finding dedicated coaches even when it came down to being "voluntold". Many of those coaches are still at it 20 and even 30 years later. This is a true testament to his leadership and impact. Sandy is a big reason IRCSD athletics is on the map.
He will be missed. Join us in remembering Sandy and keeping his family in your prayers.
