We are moving into Week 2 of our 8-week Self-Esteem cycle! After focusing on the joy of being yourself and the confidence to try new things, we are now looking at how the words we choose shape our mindset and our relationships. This week’s core message is simple but powerful: "Positive Words Build Self-Esteem."
At the academy, we are teaching our students that their internal and external vocabulary acts as a blueprint for their day. We are challenging them to replace doubt with "I can do it!" and "Yes, I can!" when faced with challenges. We are also practicing how to be "cheerleaders" for one another—using uplifting language to help our teammates succeed during board breaks and drills.

We are thrilled to begin our brand-new 8-week training cycle today! For the next two months, our primary life skill focus is Self-Esteem.
At the academy, we are defining self-esteem as the joy of being yourself. We are starting this cycle by encouraging our students to change their internal narrative—we want them to see themselves as warriors, champions, and leaders. This week, we are diving into our first pillar, Confidence. We are teaching the students that if they believe in their own abilities, they can accomplish any task we put in front of them. Remember: "Believe it to achieve it!"

We have reached the grand finale of our 8-week Respect cycle! Over the last two months, we have explored self-respect, gear care, honesty, confidence, and leadership. This week, we are finishing strong by focusing on one of the most powerful pillars of all: Active Listening.
At the academy, we are teaching our students that listening isn't just about hearing words—it’s about taking action. We are challenging the students all week to "Listen and React Immediately." We’ve even issued a special leadership invitation to those who demonstrate they are truly listening, proving that sharp listening skills lead to great rewards and growth.

By maintaining control, our students show that they respect their partners, which builds a strong foundation of trust that helps everyone improve.

At the academy, we are teaching our students that leadership is about more than just giving orders—it’s about taking action. We are challenging them to look around and notice when a space needs to be cleaned or organized, and then stepping up to take care of it without being asked. By acting like leaders in class, our students set a positive example for others to follow, creating a more respectful environment for everyone.

We are moving into Week 3 of our 8-week Respect cycle! After focusing on self-respect and taking care of our gear, we are shifting our attention to how we interact with others. This week, our core message is: "Gain Respect by GIVING Respect."

At the academy, we are teaching our students that respect is a two-way street. One of the most powerful ways to build a habit of respect is through our verbal communication. We are practicing using respectful language—specifically "yes/no, sir/ma’am"—when speaking to instructors and training partners. We are helping students turn this into a natural habit, which builds confidence and shows they value the people they are interacting with.

You can help your child carry these lessons into their daily routine with these five tips:

The "Yes/No, Sir/Ma’am" Challenge: Encourage your student to use "yes/no, sir/ma’am" whenever you speak to them. This simple change in their vocabulary builds immediate respect and mindfulness in conversation.
