Another epic year at the Master’s World Championships!🥋
We couldn’t be more proud of these 4 for their courageous spirits, disciplined preparation, and performances this weekend.
Kai Sabada looked fantastic in his first run at a World title. After a dominant performance in his first match, he lost an exciting battle to the eventual winner of a stacked division. We all had a blast watching him perform and seeing what it looks like when he doesn’t have to take it easy on all of us 😂
Richelle Takemoto did what Richelle does, always taking on all comers, and moving down an age brackets for more matches. Her performance, grit, and warrior spirit were evident as always and an inspiration to us all! 💪
Following a shoulder surgery earlier this year, Alexis Davis had her best run at Masters Worlds yet, battling her way through a deep division all the way to the finals! She lost a nail biter in by 1 advantage, and became a Masters World Champion Silver Medalist! 👏🥈🙌
Christine Gould made her Black Belt debut this year. She looked dominant as always, winning her 3rd Masters World Title, and making history, as she became the areas first ever Black Belt World Champion! 😮🥋🥇
As we conclude this competition season, we’d like to congratulate the dozens of competitor’s who put themselves out there this summer, and the entire team who helped them prepare and contribute to the team’s success. We’ve never been so proud to be team OJJA!🫶
Be sure to join us tomorrow night (Labor Day) @ 5:30 for a special open mat to celebrate the end of the competition camp, and welcome home this weekends competitors! All other classes are canceled. We hope to see you there! 🎉🤩
