Doug Nebbe will be giving a talk this Saturday, January 17!

Happy from the Boone & Scenic Valley Railroad!

We hope you'll make some time on your calendar and join us this coming Saturday, January 17th, at 2:00 pm, as railroad historian and railfan Doug Nebbe of Ogden will present “Boone County Coal Mining and Railroads”, a free program focusing on coal mining in our area and the railroads involved.

Available live in person or via Zoom, this program covers the numerous coal mines in Boone and surrounding counties. Doug spent many years collecting rare photos and learning little-known facts on this obscure bit of Iowa railroad history. Be sure to attend this look into one of the more interesting facets of Iowa history.
This event will take place at the James H. Andrew Railroad Museum at the Boone & Scenic Valley Railroad, located at 225 10th Street in Boone, Iowa. For information on ZOOM connections, email [email protected].

Our 2024 season begins today, April 12! We're starting out with an inventory reduction sale: 20% off all bikes (discount on bikes only).

We are open for the Spring and Summer! Our "regular hours" are Thursday and Friday from 1pm to 5pm AND Saturday from 10am to 2pm. But you know the drill: if you see a car or bike in the parking lot, Doug is at the shop. 🙂

Even though we don't have official winter hours, Doug is at the Bike Barn most days, and sometimes he has help (kids and grandkids!). Just give Doug a call to make sure he's there before you drive to Ogden.
