We’re breeding for scope, movement, and performance—but are we paying enough attention to what we might be passing on? 🧬🐴

From cervical vertebral variations to inherited conditions like PSSM1 and HERDA, science is giving us more insight into equine genetics than ever before. But what do we know, what are we still learning, and how can breeders use that information responsibly?

In the latest *Elite Equine Edit*, we’re exploring the intersection of breeding, performance, genetics, and long-term soundness—and asking a bigger question:

The "perfect" sport horse… but at what cost?

Hunter Derby Stallion

This 7-year-old stallion was born to be a Hunter. Sired by Colman, he inherited an exceptionally calm mind, great focus, and a well-behaved character. Combined with a Contender × Corofino damline, this diamond has everything it takes: scope, carefulness, and the confidence to get to the other side of any jump under any circumstances.

He may have only started his season this year, but his consistent canter, great mind, unlimited scope, and undeniable balance tell us that this is the most luxurious Rolls-Royce on the market.

Don’t hesitate to contact us and get this diamond for yourself as soon as possible!

Buying or selling a horse is rarely as simple as it looks. 🐴

Behind every sale, there can be multiple trainers, brokers, referral fees, commissions, vet checks, negotiations, and moving pieces that buyers and sellers may not even realize are happening.

So how do we make the process more transparent?

This week in **The Elite Equine Edit**, we’re breaking down the logistics behind every horse sale — from the Facebook ISO that turns into 50 “perfect fits” to the importance of knowing who represents whom, how commissions work, and what transparency should look like throughout a transaction.

At Elite Equine Marketplace, we believe finding and selling quality horses should start with greater clarity, better connections, and more transparency. That’s the kind of equestrian marketplace we’re working to build.

💫 Low-Mid Fives Quality Jumper/Eq prospect with plenty of potential💫

Falcon" is a 2021 Zangersheide gelding who was imported in the summer of 2025 as a long term sale prospect. Since then, he has been brought along slowly and correctly and is now ready to shine in his new home. Falcon is consistently jumping 2'6" courses and has schooled up to 3'0" with ease. He has a powerful hind end that will easily make him a 3'6" horse with time. Though he can be finished in any direction, we see him thriving as a future Jumper, Eq, or Eventing mount. This horse is going to make someone a fantastic partner and is perfect for an advanced junior, amateur or professional who really wants to take a horse up the levels.

Falcon is very pleasant to ride and is extremely well trained on the flat. He goes on the bit nicely, moves off of aids great and gives his rider a great feeling over fences. He is very easy to hack and does well alone or with others.

Great x-rays on file.
Richmond, VA - UTD on everything.
*Falcon currently stands 15.3-3/4hh. When he came to us he was 15.2hh. We do expect him to finish at or slightly above 16hh. He takes up leg and has fantastic hind end power that he does not ride like a small horse.
