Sand N My Bootz Saturday

After a few tests at Level 2, the feedback from the judges reflected exactly where Bootz was in his training. While there were plenty of positives, the areas of improvement were straightness in the lope, definition in the lengthening and correct bend and angle in the lateral work. All of this will come in time with consistency and fitness of course. It always helps when Cyril corrects the aids sequence though. He is able to help Lynn's timing giving Bootz the best chance for success.

Sand N My Bootz Saturday

This day Bootz was a superhorse! Marjorie came to Jacksonville to show in Western Dressage. Turns out there was an all breed open show in another arena. After finding a rope, Ranch Trail was suddenly on the schedule. From sidepassing in a Level 2 Western Dressage test, to getting Marjorie to her first test since 1998 to catching that cow, Bootz was willing and happy every step of the way. The ribbons and celebratory drinks were well deserved.

Sand N My Bootz Saturday

An AQHA circuit began the day after the Western Dressage show at WEC. We stayed for a few days to school the obstacles and enjoy the arenas. This was the first time Lynn had asked Bootz to drag a log which he did well. He worked the gate, sidepassed, walked the bridge and went through the transitions of gaits and speeds within the gaits. It was alot to show so we picked the most fun parts to share. He is still green with the romel reins and some obstacles but he is making huge improvements. Hopefully he and Lynn and/or Marjorie will be ready to show in the fall.

Sand N My Bootz Saturday

Bootz had a birthday this week-6! Three of those years have been with Palm Equestrian Academy. In that time, he has matured, advanced in his training, and showed to many championships. The best parts are the fun like his first jump, first stroll in the ocean and first time getting the mail in the neighborhood. The most rewarding is seeing the relationship he is building with his new partner, Marjorie. There is much more to come for this so stay tuned to Sand N My Bootz Saturdays!

Sand N My Bootz Saturday

Show time! This is Bootz' first time in the competition arena since late 2024. And Lynn's first time showing him ever! In a new level of Western Dressage with new purpose and new requirements, all went well. Many components were rewarded and plenty had valuable feedback to take home. The scores reflected fairly good performance which translates to low 70s. The best parts of the weekend were Bootz sleeping in his stall, totally unaffected by show life, and being willing and ready to perform even though some parts of the tests are still difficult for him. Here's to continuing to develop Bootz as an athlete and a fun !

Sand N My Bootz Saturday

It was spring break and Marjorie and her family visited Sarasota for a week. She and Bootz got to know each other more with each ride and show plans even started to come together. It was reminiscent of Lynn schooling Marjorie and Restless Lark through an equitation pattern or Cyril guiding her and Regal Scout over fences. Different horse, different chapter but same book...finding your superhorse.
