They practiced climbing, backbends, coordination, and strength. They also became frogs, dramatically collapsed over “beans on toast,” moved into the shoe cubbies, and made some new friends along the way. 😂 At Kinetic Arts Center, kids get to build real skills while doing something equally important: playing. Fall classes are open now!

Not every kid loves team sports—and that’s one of the things that makes Kinetic Arts Center so special. You get to work on your own skills, challenge yourself, and progress at your own pace. But you’re not doing it alone. Circus still requires you to work with your peers by spotting each other, and learning together. We also have performance based classes with a big show at the end of the year! It’s individual progress with a team & coaches beside you. 🎪💪 For some kids & teens, circus might just be the after-school activity they didn’t know they were looking for. Tissue Meeting is a space for tissue artists, coaches, and enthusiasts to meet, share, connect, and research together! Join Anna Thomas Henry and Katherine Hutchinson at Kinetic Arts Center (Oakland, CA) for a full day of skill sharing, practice, and inspiration in a collaborative environment.

Summer Circus Celebration is finally here! 18+ show tonight at 7:30. We have very limited tickets left at the door, so show up early if you don’t have your tickets already.

We had some absolutely phenomenal last minute workshop additions for this year's Summer Circus Celebration. Don't miss this chance to train with the superbly talented in FLEXIBILITY IN FLIGHT - Saturday 8/15 - 10-11:30am. Veronica Blair is an accomplished aerialist, choreographer, and circus researcher. She is the recipient of the 2021 Gerbode Foundation's Choreographers Award, the 2020 American Circus Educators Award for Innovation, and the Community Impact at the inaugural International Circus Awards for her work on the Uncle Junior Project, a multimedia archive spotlighting People of African descent in American circus. Under the same project, Veronica curated a live exhibition titled "Entrapment to Entertainment: A Celebration of Black People in American Circus" in 2013. Her impactful work has earned her invitations to speak at the Smithsonian, San Francisco International Arts Festival, and facilitate panel discussions engaging conversations about institutional barriers, individual biases, and abuse prevention in the circus industry as part of the Circus and Changing Realities series in partnership with CircusTalk.com.
