We had a lovely ride at Ramsey today. A couple of members are doing a nighttime ride tonight. Another member took her new horse on a mounted hound walk in preparation for fox hunting this season. What horsey things did you do today?

Unfortunately, we have decided to cancel Saturday's show due to the excessive heat. We're contacting our judges to see if any of them have open dates. Keep an eye out for announcements. The next regularly scheduled show is September 19. We will need volunteers to help out that day since several board members will be unavailable.

August updates:

8/9 Trail ride event updated. Jessica's horses have some minor issues, so she's not available to lead a ride that day. Anyone interested in riding together can comment on that event post to try to coordinate with each other.

8/11 Monthly meeting will be held at TIO'S TACOS & TEQUILA in O'Fallon not far from the arena. It's in the plaza between Motomart and the apartments. Look for us in the back in the bar area. We're not sure if a virtual meeting will be possible, but we'll try.

8/15 Horse show! Pleasure classes at 11 and speed at 2. The judge is Chris Arentsen. We'll use the patterns that were posted in for our attempted April make-up show we tried to have on July 25. We're hoping to make-up the make-up. There will be some raffle items--tickets are $5 each or 3 for $10. Winners will be drawn at the October 10 show. If you have any items to donate, we'll happily include them in our raffle.

NO EVENTS THIS WEEKEND 7/25 AND 7/26.

The arena conditions are better at 3:00, but the heat and humidity are NOT, so we're not going to have an organized speed practice today. I didn't sink as much in the sand as I did this morning, but I don't know how it would hold up to a horse running around. My horses are boycotting any sort of test run since they're sweating just standing in the shade.

The fun and games show for Sunday is also canceled because the temp and humidity are going to be even higher. So sorry! We hate to cancel and lose out on entry fees because there are still bills to pay! We're looking at trying to add another show in August. PLEASE put our regular August 15 show (judge Chris Arentsen) on your calendar.
