Right now we have a heat index of 106 that is getting hotter as the days goes on.

If anyone wants to reschedule their lesson, I have zero problems with that. I’m fine either way and will be here regardless. Just giving y’all the option.

We have been having a great summer here at Little Flippers! Lots of kids and adults came in the water scared and left here swimming, floating, cannonballs off the side and just having a blast!

We have one more session coming up. If you are wanting to put the fear of water behind you or just add a few extra lessons, grab them while you can.

Big thanks to everyone who put their trust in Little Flippers! We have truly enjoyed working with your families!

The forecast is showing we have steady rain all day. I was hoping it would let up but it doesn’t look like that’s happening. Please reschedule your classes at your convenience.

So far this summer everyone who has completed six lessons is swimming!

Almost all of them came in afraid of the water. Some come in with bad swim habits that cause them to go under unable to make it out. All it takes is patience and someone who understands every learner is different.

If you have been struggling to get yourself or your child swimming, pick 6 times from the calendar and learn how much fun the water can really be.

Please make sure to park in front of our house. The neighbors have very politely asked us not to park in front of theirs. Come through the gate on the garage side to enter the back yard. Please do not come more than ten minutes before your time. I don't like to interfere with other private lessons.

Looks like a nice week ahead. At first the forecast was calling for rain all week. 😩

Make sure to check here for updates. So many people call and text when I am in the water.

In Arkansas it may be storming where you are but not here. If it is, I’ll post here so y’all don’t make the trip. We don’t take any chances if there is bad weather headed our way. Your safety is our priority.

This is Orange Beach today. Last week the sand was very soft, I almost fell down several times with it washing out from under me. This week it’s full of RIP currents.

Look at these so you can recognize them. Tell your kids to not panic and just swim sideways along the beach.

This one is tricky because once you get out of one you are in another. Keep swimming or floating sideways parallel to the beach. No need to panic or be in a hurry. We just don’t want the Rip to push is out. If it does, the waves will bring you back so swim to the waves.

Better to walk back if you end up down the shore a bit.

I’ve had several messages about kids and adults going underwater. We never push the kids under. The kid in the video was also very afraid to go under.

For many kids, it’s their favorite thing to do by the time they leave here. Adults not so much! They like to float on their back which is great and comes in handy when you are in a bad spot.

Either way, we don’t push the issue. Our main goal is teach them to swim. After they overcome that fear of water, they usually want to learn some other stuff too.

Learning is always easier when it’s fun!
