Long post, but totally worth it!
So very thankful for everyone who made it out tonight! Be sure to scroll all the way through to see pictures from tonight!
Tonight, we officially put a bow on our 2026 softball season as we hosted our Softball Awards Banquet at The Range at Cold Springs. While the individual awards handed out tonight were well-deserved, we know successful teams are built by an entire roster of players committed to embracing and excelling in their roles.
Each of the 26 JV and Varsity players this season learned to adjust and adapt as the year progressed, understanding that competition is where growth happens. Injuries and other challenges throughout the season created opportunities for players to step up, and time after time, they answered the call.
Our Varsity team finished the season with a 15-7 record, earned a Top 3 finish in the AA Upper-State Bracket, and captured a second consecutive District Championship. As this season comes to a close, we cannot express enough gratitude and appreciation for our three seniors — Evie, Olivia, and Katie. These young ladies poured countless hours, energy, and passion into maintaining the high standard of Ninety Six Softball. Their impact on our program goes far beyond wins and losses, and they will always have a home here. We are excited to see the bright futures ahead of them.
Our JV team also had a tremendous season, finishing with an 18-1 record. For a team made up entirely of middle school players, that accomplishment speaks volumes about the talent, hard work, and dedication within this group. Beyond the wins, we are especially proud of the growth, flexibility, and selflessness these young ladies displayed throughout the season. Their willingness to learn multiple positions and adapt night after night allowed our team to succeed in many different ways. The future is incredibly bright for this group.
We could not do this without the support of our amazing athletic department, administrators, coaches, teachers, parents, community members, and local business sponsors. Your time, encouragement, and resources have helped pave the way for another successful season.
As a coaching staff, we could not ask for a better group of young ladies to lead and invest in each day. While this chapter closes, we are already excited for the next one. We understand the importance of offseason work, weight training, and competing in other school-sponsored sports, and we will continue supporting our players every step of the way.
The countdown to the 2026-2027 softball season starts now!
