Who’s everyone picking? When Kid Rocks Cowboy hit the speakers the hair on my neck will stand up but if I was betting I’d be picking Fred. Either way super pumped this is happening. That era of calf roping will never be matched. Match ropings, mo betta, bad company, capris and bumper pulls the list goes on. Who ya got tomorrow?
Rivalry renewed 😤
Two of the greatest tie-down ropers ever, Cody Ohl and Fred Whitfield, will square off again in a $10,000 match at the South Texas Showdown on Oct. 25. The 10-head match will be a winner-take-all in Uvalde, Texas. It’s part of the Phil Lyne Invitational Calf Roping, which will also feature a head-to-head match between Shane Hanchey and Kincade Henry.
Ohl and Whitfield won 11 of the 12 tie-down roping world titles between 1995 and 2006, often going toe to toe at the NFR for the gold buckle.
