Attention Gun Buyers!!!

The "NICS Denial Notification Act of 2022" has went into effect. If you are purchasing a long gun in Nebraska and do no have a Nebraska Firearm Purchase Certificate, issued by a local police chief or county sheriff, you will have to pass a NICS background check conducted by the FFL retailer you are buying the firearm from. If the FBI NICS gives the FFL retailer a "Delay" or "Deny" response the FBI will now collect your home address from the FFL retailer with the intent to give this information to local law enforcement for them to decide if you need to be visited.

Bottom line, if you are a Nebraska resident over the age of 21 and feel you may want to purchase a firearm, contact your local county sheriff or police chief and get your Nebraska Firearm Purchase Certificate to avoid the possible delay response.
