📚 Excited to dive into my Menopause Coaching Specialist Certification! I think it’s a fantastic addition to my Pre and Postnatal Cert.

Menopause affects every woman differently, yet there is so much misinformation circulating online. I’m ready to learn more science and evidence based strategies that can help women navigate this stage of life.

This certification covers topics many women over 40 are struggling with, including:

✨ Weight gain & body composition changes
✨ Pelvic floor, bladder & urinary concerns

Different hand placements target different muscle groups. Here’s a quick breakdown so you can find the variation that works best for your goals!

🔹 WIDE PUSH UPS
Hands placed wider than shoulders
➡️ Main focus: Chest
➡️ Secondary muscles: Shoulders & triceps
✔ Great for building upper body strength and chest activation

🔹 STANDARD PUSH UPS
Hands directly under shoulders
➡️ Main focus: Chest, shoulders & triceps evenly
✔ Best overall push up variation for total upper body strength

🔹 CLOSE GRIP / DIAMOND PUSH UPS
Hands close together under chest
➡️ Main focus: Triceps

We spend so much time and energy debating the safety of things like seed oils, food dyes, and artificial sweeteners, but alcohol often flies under the radar. There’s a real cultural blind spot around it. I think because it’s so normalized, people don’t always see it as something that warrants that same kind of scrutiny. Reducing or cutting out alcohol can transform your health in ways you might never expect. Remember alcohol is a toxin to the body. It contains ethanol, which, when metabolized, produces acetaldehyde, a carcinogen that damages DNA and prevents cells from repairing themselves. Alcohol acts as a poison by impacting every organ, particularly the brain and liver.

And keep in mind, alcohol slows your metabolism and makes weight loss more difficult. Since the body treats alcohol as a toxin, it focuses on processing it first instead of burning fat or carbohydrates. This can pause fat burning for up to 36 hours, add extra “empty” calories, and increase the likelihood of fat storage, especially around the midsection.

Would you call having wrinkles a “broken face”? Probably not, so why say it about backs?

Disc changes are normal with age, not dangerous.

Research (Brinjikji et al., 2015) shows:
• Disc degeneration: 30% of people in their 20s, 80%+ in their 50s
• Disc bulges: ~60% of 50-year-olds
• Many people with these findings have no pain at all

Other studies (Jarvik & Deyo; Chou et al.) confirm that imaging doesn’t predict pain or disability.

What this means:
An MRI isn’t a diagnosis. These “abnormalities” are often just normal aging…like wrinkles. Pain is complex and can’t be explained by one image.

The real issue is how we interpret scans. Labels like “degeneration” can create fear, leading people to move less and feel worse over time.

The fix:
Build strength, improve movement, and gradually return to uncomfortable positions.
Discs don’t always need fixing. People need confidence and resilience.

Wrinkles are normal. So are disc changes.

Most people are goal focused Monday through Thursday… and then Friday rolls around and it’s game over until Monday.

That’s basically 4 days on, 3 days off.. about 57% consistency.

Imagine showing up to work only 57% of the time and still expecting a full paycheck. 🥴

Your goals work the same way. They don’t require perfection… but they do require better attendance.

Show up more often than you don’t. That’s where the progress happens. 💪🏽
