Three hundred acres of wildflowers, the whole valley green, and nobody up here to see it but Mark and Sam.
That's Mark up the tower on the triple, starting the annual inspection. He's new to the crew this year, so he wanted his own eyes on every tower and every sheave on the mountain. All of them, the long way. Sam's the one down in the wildflowers keeping an eye on him.
Over on the double, the pole saw comes out. The woods grow in a little every summer and every summer we cut them back, so the ride up is all view and no branches.
There's a lot of Hunt Hollow you never see from the chair.
They've got the mountain to themselves until December. Then it's yours again.
