Peace still needs boundaries.
Love sometimes needs protection.

This line came to me after watching two little moments in nature this week.

A skunk family has been peacefully foraging in my backyard — minding their own business, moving at their own pace, and somehow carrying a boundary everyone understands.

Then I saw a mama swan with her babies. We got a little too close trying to take a picture, and she lifted her big wing right over her young to shield them. It was breathtaking. And yes, we stepped right back.

It made me think about how often love, kindness, and grace get confused with being endlessly available.

But nature reminds us otherwise.

We can be peaceful and still have a line.
We can be loving and still protect what matters.
We can be soft and still strong.

I’m sharing more about this on this week’s Heart Glow CEO® episode: Skunks, Swans, and the Quiet Power of Leadership.

A sweet one from the heart — with a little backyard wisdom woven in.

What a beautiful way to end the week.

I opened my inbox and saw this surprise shoutout from my client, Sarah — and it landed right in the heart.

Coaching is such intimate work. So much of the real transformation happens in the quiet, honest, sometimes messy spaces where someone is willing to be seen, challenged, supported, and reminded of who they are.

To be trusted in that process is something I never take lightly.

Feeling extra grateful today — for the work, for the brave humans who say yes to their growth, and for the unexpected reminders that what we do for each other matters.

I’ve been thinking a lot about the difference between depth and density.

After facilitating my recent Identity Evolution workshop, I did what I usually do after something meaningful: a simple debrief.

What worked? What felt useful? What would I adjust next time?

One thing became very clear. More is not always better.

I love a rich framework. I love depth, nuance, and offering people something they can actually use. But I’m also learning, again, that there’s a point where more content can crowd out the very transformation we’re hoping to create.

Depth gives people room to see themselves more clearly. Density can make people feel like they’re trying to keep up.

That distinction matters in workshops, but it matters just as much in leadership.

Most high-capacity people are already carrying full lives. Full calendars. Full inboxes. Full decision loads. Full nervous systems. Full responsibilities that don’t always show up on a job description or org chart.

➡️ So when we add more without creating room to digest, we may be adding pressure instead of value.

The same thing can happen in meetings, strategy sessions, team conversations, retreats, and even personal growth work.

We can prepare well, bring meaningful content, offer thoughtful questions, and still miss the deeper opportunity if there isn’t enough space for people to hear themselves.

Sometimes the most useful moment is not the next idea. It’s the pause after the idea.

The moment someone has enough room to notice what’s true. To say the thing they were editing. To connect a dot they didn’t know was waiting to be connected. That’s often where the real shift happens. Not because the room was perfectly polished, but because it was safe enough to be honest.

That’s what I’m taking with me into June:

Structure matters. Content matters. Preparation matters.

But so does breathing room.

Especially for leaders who are moving quickly, holding complexity, and trying to make grounded decisions in real time.

The question I’m sitting with this week is simple:

Where am I adding more when what’s actually needed is space?

It’s a good one for leadership. It’s a good one for life.

I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I’ve been thinking a lot about identity this week.

Partly because I’m leading my Identity Evolution workshop tomorrow at Yoga Love of Honeoye Falls, and partly because this theme keeps showing up in real life.

There’s this idea that, to uplevel, we have to leave something behind.

And honestly? The ego usually does not love that plan. LOL.

Even when we know we’re ready for more peace, clarity, confidence, or freedom, there can still be a part of us that grips the familiar.

The old pattern.
The old role.
The old way of proving, protecting, over-giving, or holding it all together.

So I’ve been wondering…

What if identity evolution doesn’t have to feel like rejecting who you’ve been?

What if it’s more like releasing what’s been standing in the way of your brighter, steadier self?

That feels softer to me.

Less like “you need to fix yourself” and more like “you get to clear what no longer supports you.”

I’ve always been a forever optimizer. I love growing, changing, amplifying, releasing — whatever helps me feel more grounded, peaceful, joyful, and clear.

Because really, that’s what we’re after.

Not just the goal.
Not just the title.
Not just the next shiny milestone.

We’re after the feeling.

“Be your best self” sounds lovely, but what does that actually mean?

For me, after navigating health challenges like Lyme, Epstein-Barr, long COVID, and cancer, being my best self has become pretty simple.

Pain-free.
Clear-thinking.
Light-hearted in spirit.

If I wake up with those three things and can serve, life is good.

Then I get curious.

What helped create that cocktail of goodness?

Was it solid rest? Alive nutrition? Meditation? Connection? Time outside? A cleaner boundary? Less noise?

From there, I can see what’s working, what needs support, and what tiny tweak might help me feel more like myself again.

That’s why clarity matters so much when it comes to identity evolution.

We have to know how we want to feel before we can become a stronger match for that version of ourselves.

Not in a forced, hustle-y way.

In a conscious way.

A kind way.

A way that says: I’m allowed to grow without shaming where I’ve been.

So maybe today, ask yourself:

What is one quality I’m ready to embody more fully?

Calm? Courage? Trust? Playfulness? Self-respect? Ease? Clarity?

And then:

What is one small pattern, habit, or old identity that may be blocking that quality from coming forward?

You don’t have to overhaul your life by Monday.

Just notice.

That’s where change starts.

Clarity first, action always.

And if you’re local and this is speaking to you, there are still a few spots open for Identity Evolution tomorrow.

We’ll explore how to release outdated patterns, reconnect with your voice, and step into the next version of who you’re becoming — with more compassion and less force.

I noticed the pattern.
So I made a choice.

That feels like the energy of Identity Evolution.

This Saturday, at Yoga Love of Honeoye Falls, I’m holding space for a grounded workshop for those in the in-between — where an old version of you no longer fits, and something truer is asking to emerge.

If you’ve been noticing the pattern, this may be your invitation.

New Heart Glow CEO® episode is live: Self-Trust: Becoming a Stable Oak Tree in Your Leadership

Self-trust isn’t the fluffy “just believe in yourself” version.

It’s the grounded leadership skill you lean on when a decision feels weighty, a conversation gets uncomfortable, your body is giving you a signal, or everyone around you has an opinion about what you should do next.

In this episode, we explore self-trust as the root system of conscious leadership through three core roots:

Security
Intuition
Heart-centered alignment

If you’re a mission-driven leader who tends to overthink, over-function, soften your truth, or carry more than your share to keep things comfortable, this conversation is for you.

Visionary leadership doesn’t live inside the safety of “how it’s always been done.”

It asks us to risk being misunderstood.

To speak when silence would be easier.

To trust the nudge that says, “There’s another way.”

The world doesn’t need more polished sameness. It needs rooted leaders willing to bring their full color, full courage, and full integrity to the canvas.

That’s where real change begins. Thoughts?

If leadership has been feeling heavier than it should, it may not be your capacity.

It may be the places where trust has become too thin to hold the weight with you.

In this new Heart Glow CEO® episode, I’m talking about the hidden cost of trust strain for leaders — how burnout is not always about doing too much, but often about carrying too much in relationships, teams, or systems that no longer feel fully clean, honest, or safe.

This one is for the leader who is thoughtful, responsible, and holding a lot… and who may be quietly feeling the drag of what isn’t being said, repaired, or shared.

Listen here:

Leadership can look polished on the outside while feeling incredibly heavy on the inside. In this episode, I’m unpacking the hidden cost of thin trust — and why burnout is not always about doing too much, but about carrying too much because the people, systems, or conversations around you cannot...
