Happy World Environment Day! It's not often we share from our extensive manuscript collection, but today we are highlighting this table from the Napa River Flood Control Project, Final Environmental Statement, published February 1980, listing eight general habitat types in Napa Valley and their associated plant and animal species. The report cited several rare and endangered species in the River, including the California black rail, clapper rail, and salt marsh harvest mouse (particularly in the marsh between Steamboat and Fagan Sloughs south of Bull Island.)
