Meet Bryce Hartley
This is a member's journey that highlights the potential achievable through dedication, desire, discipline, and the strength found in community support.
FRANCO FITNESS isn’t just a training program. It’s a mindset and a commitment to HARD WORK in all areas of life.
For BRYCE HARTLEY, that mindset has been life-changing. His journey shows what’s possible when you SHOW UP daily and embrace the WORK. Both inside and outside the gym.
Why was this important to you?
My health and my potential future family. The biggest push was that I was getting married and knew that we would eventually start a family. I want to be an example for my partner and any potential children we may have. I knew where I was at was only going to make things harder for me down the road.
Prove to myself that I can do this. I can be like the people I see on social media who have had these amazing transformations. I always had an excuse and wanted an easy way out. But it was time to myself wrong.
How and why Franco Fitness?
I had done some CrossFit in SF. (Plus in Milwaukee) So when I moved to Napa in March of 2024, I knew I wanted to get back into it. So when I was searching for places in the area, a few popped up on Google. Franco Fitness was one of them but it took me some time to get motivated to join a gym. So when I started to get serious, there was something in my gut that seemed special about Franco Fitness. Fast forward 11 months, I now know what that special Thing was.
Once I started, I was bought in. I could see right away what type of leader and coach you were. You pushed people to better versions of themselves. You passed that on to all the coaches who did the same thing. The Franco fitness community is one of the nicest, strongest and fittest gyms I have ever been apart of. It’s also made me feel more a part of the Napa community. I am not from here, I knew a handful of people that including my wif,e but now this place feels like home. I lived in multiple circles across the country since graduating from college, this is the first place I ever referred to as “home”
Nacho. He lives every day the same way what he’s been teaching me. He shined a whole new light on to how I need to be looking at what I am doing to my body. On July 30th we sat down upstairs to talk about how I should be approaching my nutrition. At first, it felt like it was unattainable or at least that’s what was telling myself. He also said I could lose 40-50 before my wedding which was in November that same year which I thought “no frickin way”. Here we are 8.5 months and 100lbs later. For the first time ever, I have the confidence in myself to get back down to my target weight that always seemed like a pipe dream.
Special shoutouts
All the coaches- They are amazing. I have been lucky enough to work with Nacho, Hunter, Shannon, Kennedie and Ryan consistently on a weekly basis. I was terrified at first but they made it less daunting when you first start. If there was something I couldn’t do or wasn’t comfortable with, they had an alternative movement for me. They made sure you kept moving and kept pushing you to get better every day. They do a great job of making sure you are doing the movements or lifts correctly. They are always some of biggest supporters you will have in there.
The Franco Fitness members who keep you coming back every day. As mentioned, they are some of fittest, strongest and nicest people I have come across.
What advice would you give anyone else in your situation?
Trust Nacho- he will not steer you in the wrong direction. What he provides is a way to be a better version of yourself
Keep pushing and don’t stop. It’s going to be hard and you are gonna want say “I can’t do this”. Don’t stop, you will thank yourself later
You’re going to have bad days and that’s ok. Acknowledge it and move on to the next.
How did you motivate or tell yourself on your toughest days?
Using the “you always give up” “you never finish what you started” voices in my head to keep pushing forward
Telling myself that this isn’t a diet and I am fully changing my approach to how I treat my body.
The Franco fitness community. Seeing what everyone does in the gym keeps me wanting to get better/faster/stronger/fitter. Also, I have a few folks come up to me about my progress and how it motivates them. Made all the hard days worth it and motivated me to continue to get better
I wasn’t going to let you down.
