State Senate passes bill requiring gun buyers to get permit, take live fire training on Monday
Permit to Purchase Fi****ms:
A person may apply for a permit to purchase fi****ms with the background check program by submitting:
a complete set of fingerprints taken by the local law enforcement agency in the jurisdiction in which the applicant resides;
the required permit application fee; and
a certificate of completion of a certified fi****ms safety training program within the last five years, or proof that the applicant is exempt from the training requirement;
a completed application which must include the applicant's:
full name and place and date of birth;
residential address and current mailing address, if different;
driver's license number or state identification card number;
physical description;
telephone number and email address, at the option of the applicant;
an electronic signature.
The proposed permit would be valid for five years and may be renewed for another five-year term
