Behind every great week of camp is an incredible team of nurses and volunteers helping keep our mountain community healthy, safe, and ready for adventure. Whether it's a scraped knee from a game, a reminder to drink more water, a daily medication check, or simply offering a comforting smile when a camper needs one, our nursing team is always there with care and compassion.

These dedicated individuals work behind the scenes all week long to support campers, counselors, and staff so everyone can focus on making memories, building friendships, growing in faith, and having fun. They are often some of the first people campers meet and quickly become trusted faces throughout the week.

We are so grateful for the time, expertise, and servant hearts they bring to Camp Mitchell. Join us in giving a warm mountain welcome and a huge thank you to our amazing nursing staff and volunteers who help make camp possible!

Help Us Reach More Campers for DJCC!

We’re looking for 20 more campers for this year’s Dick Johnston Children’s Camp, July 19–24!

DJCC serves children ages 8-12 whose parent is currently or was previously incarcerated, offering a safe, supportive, joy‑filled week at Camp Mitchell on Petit Jean Mountain near Morrilton.

To reach eligible families, we’re asking our community to help us connect with teachers, school staff, social workers, counselors, reentry organizations, and professionals in the criminal justice system who may know children who would benefit.

If you can share the attached brochure with your networks, it makes a real difference. Let’s make sure every eligible child has the chance to be part of this special week!

Join us on the mountain June 21-36 for Senior High Camp! This year we’re using Camp Mitchell's theme "Growing Together in Faith," and the long-running TV classic "Survivor" to create a fantastic week for teens focusing on the importance of community, teamwork, and building relationships.

Our Senior High Session Staff has planned incredible evening activities, camp-wide scavenger hunts and riddles, and maybe a tribal council or two, ensuring an exciting week at camp.

The last day to sign up is June 8 by midnight! Scholarships available. We have ten spots left!

It's time to start packing for camp! We can't wait to welcome your campers to the mountain in the coming weeks.

To help your camper prepare, we've provided a suggested packing list of items to bring for a fun and comfortable week at camp.

If you'd like your camper to receive "mail" during the week, we encourage you to bring any letters or care packages with you at check-in. Our staff will hold them and deliver them during mail time after lunch—a favorite camp tradition that campers always look forward to!

Calling all Primary campers, families, and friends!

Join us on the mountain July 12–16 for another fabulous week of Primary Camp! This year we’re stepping into the colorful world of The Lorax as we discover how God calls us to care for His creation, speak up for others, and learn how even small acts of kindness can make a BIG difference.

We’re excited to welcome back last year’s amazing session staff, who are ready for a week filled with laughter, play, growth, and fun! Whether this is your camper’s first year or their favorite summer tradition, all are welcome to make new memories and life-long connections at Camp Mitchell!
