Yesterday we wrapped up our 1st season of competition at Smoke on the Rail BBQ Festival. We had another top 10 call and our first piece of Hardware, or should I say glassware (Trophy is a cool looking plate).
3 competitions, and had top 10 calls at every one. All I can say is we tried our best every competition. The times we thought the food was great, we didn't score well. The times we thought we were out of it, we got a call. The stress level is real after turning in that last box and waiting for awards. The best part of all of this, is doing all this with my son as my partner
First and foremost we need to once again thank our sponsors Blue Collar Construction LLC, Rad Painting, LLC, and S4M - Smiles 4 Miles - Sport & Event Photography by Jeff Tantum. Thank you for helping this team get started. I hope we can continue to work together growing as a team.
Thanks to Backwooder BBQ for being our big brothers in bbq (even though I'm older) and helping get us going going. Working side by side with you guys has been so much damn fun and we already can't wait till next year.
There are too many teams to list that have helped us out with advice, words of encouragement, and just offering help if we needed it. Leaning Jowler Competition BBQ Team, and Oink n' Doink BBQ Team are two teams that are just plain awesome. We’ve learned so much from you guys, and had so much damn fun hanging out with you guys. Definitely can't forget our friends at Tame the Flame BBQ. You guys rock as well, and look forward to seeing you guys again. (What time is pork turn-in’s lol)
Good luck to everyone who is still competing this season.
Here’s to next year…
