Had such an amazing time this weekend at our first ever bbq competition over at Twin Valley Fire & Smoke BBQ Competition.

Day 1 we had no idea what to expect. Finished 16th in chicken, 13th in ribs and 14th overall. Made some adjustments for day 2, and it payed off. 11th in chicken, and 5th in ribs for 8th overall. We had a ton of support from family and friends who showed up, and can't even begin to tell you how much support and advice we received from other teams.

For the last year, Backwooder BBQ has been helping answer every question we’ve had, and can't thank them enough for all they have done. Had a blast being neighbors this weekend.

Now before this ends up sounding like we just won an Oscar. We can’t forget the ones who helped out with all of this, and those are our sponsors. We’re a father-and-son BBQ team gearing up for our first season competing in the KCBS Backyard Series, and we’re excited to get started right here close to home. We only plan on competing in a few events in our first season, just getting our feet wet.
