Because of Bob, I drove a race car.
Back when I was just a fan (and still am at heart) I wanted nothing more than to sit in a dragster. I would walk the pits at Raceway Park just hoping someone would say, want to sit in my race car?
My uncle caught wind of what I wanted to do and told me he knew someone in his office that raced. I said absolutely no way. No way did he know. Long story short, he sure did.
I began to exchange emails with Bob. I was maybe 15/16 at the time...
After emails of questions and questions - we met Bob at Raceway Park. He was the first person to let me sit in a dragster and even let me start it. That was it. The fire was fueled even more. Fast forward, Bob introduced me to Chris DePascale and together they led me to Billy Duhs who was selling his dragster. Because of Bob, in the summer of 2011, I brought home our Dragster. It’s no secret we knew close to nothing about the journey we were embarking on. But thanks to Bob he put us in touch with really good people and we found our own little groove in the world of Drag Racing.
Bob and Robin became family. We shared many Christmas Eves together, Birthdays and they watched Steve and I get married.
Bob, you have always held such a special place in my life for what you brought to me. I sincerely could never thank you enough for being a part of my lifelong dream. You will be so greatly missed, god speed and rest easy.
