Revolutionary BBQ Brawl is in the books and it was a great time. I first want to thank Ham Squad BBQ for putting this competition together and to Mary Jones for running it. Chickahominy Riverfront park was a great location for everything and a very nice campground.
This weekend saw both consistency and inconsistency from us, but we pushed through and ended up happy with our results.
Day 1
Chicken: 8th place
Ribs: 20th place
Overall: 18th place
Thought our chicken was really good, but had a mishap on the ribs and it cost us. Congrats to Fire & Shine BBQ-Competition BBQ Team on their first ever GC and their first 350+ overall score awesome job guys! Also, congrats to Capt. Blue BBQ on his RGC, 350+ score and a double perfect 180 in ribs!
Congrats also to Muttley Crew BBQ for their master GC and to Wolf's Revenge BBQ for their masters RGC.
Don't want forget Rough Cut Q who also had a perfect 180 in ribs and a 350+ the first day!
Day 2
Chicken: 8th place
Ribs: 3rd place
Overall: 3rd place
Really thought chicken was on point day 2, surprised that it got 8th again but our chicken has been super consistent this year and I'm confident that it'll hitbl big soon! Ribs were much better than day 1. After the first day, we changed some things up on ribs and got much better results. Thought they still could have been better, but the judges seemed to like them and that's what counts. Congrats to PinkyOut BBQ for their day 2 GC and 350+ score, and congrats to All About The Wood for their (I think first?) RGC!
Also, congrats to Uncle Pig's Barbeque Pit for their day 2 masters GC and 705 overall and to Shiggin Ain’t Easy BBQ for their day 2 masters RGC and 702!
We came for a rifle or pistol trophy, and we left with one!
Big thanks to our sponsors for their support. They support us so go support them!
