Hey… we did a thing!… again!
For the second time in a week, we had one of our annual Halloween strength-travaganzas at Viking Performance Training.

5 events of awesome, smooth competition with an amazing mix of veterans and newcomers alike!
Thank you EVERYONE who came and was a part of it as competitor, volunteer, or spectator - everyone plays a part in making shows like these special!
Nothing but smiles and great feedback on the way out, which was truly like icing on the cake of a really great day.

We can’t wrap our brain around how awesome StrongKids Halloween was this year!

46 StrongKids came together in Halloween costume at VPT, and for a couple of hours it was nothing but fun as they competed, competed, competed… and had fun!

Deadlift medleys…
Medicine ball loading for speed…
Overhead presses and sled pushes…
Obstacle course races…

All designed to challenge their limits!

And it was a BLAST! Adults cheering, kids excited, staff bursting with energy and support.

This event is always so, so cool!

Ten years ago, the first StrongKids event ever was an Open House… suggested by two of a VPT members’ kids who hung out in the weight room while their dad worked out.

After the Open House was a success, we decided on a Halloween event, and it was so much fun!

The kids from StrongKids Halloween 1? Most are in college now.

One of them was actually a VPT intern a few semesters ago, ready to graduate WVU and begin nursing school.

And here we are, StrongKids Halloween 10.

And if all goes well, many many more!

Wow!

FORTY-SIX kids rocked the house at StrongKids Halloween this afternoon, and the competition was intense from beginning to end!

More details to come in a post tomorrow, but today - I am just grateful! Grateful for the smiles, the kids, the support shown by everyone for everyone!

Incredibly proud of how each and every kid pushed themselves to do their best and have fun!

A huge thank you to my Viking Performance Training staff and our volunteers!

🎃 IT’S STRONGKIDS 💪 HALLOWEEN WEEK!!! 🎃

One of the most fun days of the year is almost here!

This Saturday, October 17, the 10th edition of the StrongKids Halloween Competition takes place at Viking Performance! 👻

Kids ages 3-12 get to show off their strength, speed, determination, and COSTUMES in four Halloween-themed challenges:

🧟 Dawn of the Deadlift
💪 Medicine Ball Load
🥷 Viking Ninja Obstacle Course
🏋️ Overhead Press + Sled Push

Costumes, smiling, LOTS of cheering, and some seriously impressive little athletes!

🏅 Medals and prizes for top finishers!
🍬 Halloween treats and fun for everyone!
📸 Memories worth capturing!
