💛💙 ’TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE THE FIRST HOME GAME… 🐝
’Twas the night before kickoff, and all through our town,
A familiar old feeling was settling down.
The lights on the field were waiting to shine,
As Friday night football came back one more time.
The jerseys hang ready. The helmets sit still.
Tomorrow, our boys take the field with a will.
The band will be playing, the crowd will roar,
And the Jackets will run through those gates once more.
For some, it’s a game.
But here, it’s much more.
It’s the little town gathering beneath Friday night lights.
It’s grandparents in the stands, parents on the sidelines,
kids dreaming of someday wearing that same blue and gold.
It’s old friends coming home, neighbors filling the bleachers,
and an entire community standing together.
It’s Moorefield.
It’s Yellow Jacket Football.
And it’s our time. 🐝💛💙
So tonight, let the town get some rest…
Because tomorrow, the lights come on,
the stands come alive,
and Yellow Jacket Nation rises.
