Take extra precautions this week as we continue with heat advisories. Please locate your closest cooling center to beat the heat.

Cooling centers located this week are as follows:

Monticello community building (Garden Center) - 201 N state st. Monticello, IL Wednesday through Friday from 7:00am - 5:00pm.

Bement town hall- 148 W. Bodman. Bement, IL Wednesday through Friday from 7:30am - 4:00pm.

The Housing Authority of Piatt County - 103 W. First St. Hammond, IL Thursday from 9:00am - 4:00pm.

You can also locate your neighborhood library during the hours of operation. These can be a great cooling center for you and your family.

As always, please hydrate and watch over your elderly neighbors and loved ones!

It is with profound sadness that I have to share the news that our beloved friend and yogi,
Norma,
Passed away yesterday.
She never regained consciousness.
I know she would have been furious to be trapped in a broken body so far from family and friends.
She is finally free.
In each and every way.
She was so very happy in Florida with Jeff and her fur babies SeaJ and Sky.
She was one of my closest friends and my number one support when it came to all things yoga.
She will be missed greatly.
