Pilates is not about being flexible first.

Most people think they need to "be more flexible" before starting Pilates.

Actually, it's the opposite.

Pilates helps improve flexibility while you're building strength, balance, and body awareness.

Pilates exercises have stretching and strengthening built into the same movement—which means you're improving mobility without spending an hour doing traditional static stretches.

You don't need to arrive flexible.

You simply need to start where you are.

✨ That's exactly what we're here for.

Starting something new can feel intimidating.

That's why every client at Purposeful Pilates begins with a Private Intro Consultation.

It's an opportunity to get comfortable with the reformer, learn the fundamentals, discuss any injuries or limitations, and receive instruction tailored specifically to your body.

Our goal isn't to throw you into a workout.

Our goal is to help you feel confident, supported, and successful from day one.

Questions about getting started? We'd love to help.

Helping you move with ease.

MONDAY MILESTONES

When people see 250 sessions, they often think about the number.

We think about the commitment behind it.

The early mornings.
The busy weeks.
The days you don't feel like coming.
The choice to show up anyway.

This week we're celebrating Mick's 250 sessions, along with Becky, Nancy, and Marissa for reaching milestones of their own.

Whether you're at session 5 or session 250, every milestone matters because every one represents an investment in your health, strength, and future.

Help us celebrate these incredible clients below. 👏

Most people think The Bridge is a glute exercise.

In Pilates, it’s so much more.

With a few precision points, The Bridge can help strengthen the glutes and hamstrings while opening the chest and neck and improving spinal mobility.

It’s a great reminder that sometimes the smallest adjustments create the biggest difference.

Save this for your next workout.

Most softball and baseball players focus on strength.

But power doesn't come from your arms alone. You need strong obliques, flexible hips and a solid range of motion that allows you to twist at the hips and waistline to power your swing. Rotation is king.

This Pilates exercise focuses on rotation and helps improve oblique strength, flexibility, posture and mobility to make your swing more efficient.

Whether you're playing competitively or just getting back on the field this summer, training movement matters.

Move better.
Play better.

Pilates doesn't belong to one type of person.

It's for the beginner.
The athlete.
The weekend golfer.
The busy professional.
The person getting back into movement.
The person who just wants to feel better in their body.

No matter where you're starting, there's a place for you here.

Move with Purpose.

A little Monday math:

5 sessions = momentum

25 sessions = commitment

1 year = consistency

2 years = a lifestyle

No matter the number, every milestone deserves a celebration. Congratulations to this week’s Purposeful Pilates milestone makers.

Some progress looks dramatic.
Some looks like getting the Fudgesicles out of the freezer without falling over.

Jill started Pilates after a broken hip, frustrating recovery experiences, and wanting to feel more stable in everyday life again.

Nearly two years later, she’s regained strength, flexibility, balance, and confidence one session at a time with Katie + Linda.

Her perspective on Pilates might be our favorite:
“I’m never happy to go… but I’m always glad I went.”

We’re so lucky to have you as part of this community, Jill

There’s something oddly satisfying about a workout that looks simple… until you try it.
The chair always has a way of reminding people that control, stability, and strength are very different things.
Small adjustments.
Full body focus.
No wasted movement.
One of our favorites classes.

One exercise.
Different ways to approach it.

Pilates is designed to meet people where they are — whether you need more support, more stability, or more challenge.

Your movement does not need to look like everyone else’s to be effective.

That’s the beauty of it. 🤍
