When we bought Buckhorn Camps in 2020, one of the things we envisioned was giving people a place to gather.

Over the years we’ve welcomed fishing buddies, families, artists, nature lovers, retreat groups, bird watchers, and friends simply looking to spend time together away from the noise.

What many people don’t realize is that you can rent the entire Buckhorn Camps experience for your group.

A private island. Maine wilderness. Campfires. Fishing. Canoes. Kayaks. Dark skies. Good conversations.

Bring your own food or let us cook for you.

It’s not fancy.
It’s not crowded.
It’s simply a special place where people reconnect with nature and with each other.

Less noise. More moments that matter.

Saturday night. Final miles into Buckhorn. SiriusXM 70s on 7 playing I’m Your Boogie Man… and right on “turn me on,” this guy literally turns and looks at me. 😂🫎

100% real. Zero staging.

In a world that feels noisy, this simple life keeps reminding me why I’m here. ❤️

🎣 NOW THAT’S A DAY ON THE WATER.

A huge congratulations to our guest Mike from Vermont on landing an absolutely stunning trophy brook trout tipping the scale at 4.03 pounds — along with a beautiful landlocked salmon! 👏🔥

Fish like this are what memories are made of.

Can we guarantee a trophy brookie every trip?
No.

But what we can promise is cold spring water, active fish, incredible variety, and an authentic Maine sporting camp experience in the North Maine Woods.

This is the sweet spot of spring fishing:
✔ Brook trout
✔ Landlocked salmon
✔ Bass
✔ White perch
✔ Boat rentals available
✔ Housekeeping cabins starting at $220/night
✔ Meal plans available
✔ Guided trips with a Registered Maine Guide

And yes… hiring a guide matters. Local knowledge can make all the difference between “nice day on the water” and the story you tell for years.

👏 Congrats again, Mike! Vermont showed up well today.
