Jack & LJ went to B.R.A.K.E.S. with Doug Herbert driving program Saturday morning, and they had nothing but good things to say! In case you didn't already know, LJ is very opinionated on how people drive, especially teens. He said this program was very well done with all super knowledgeable, friendly, high energy people. Jack, who did not seem to really want to go, came home saying he actually enjoyed it. LJ even got to do a course with an instructor and some other dads.
Parents, if you can - please get your kids signed up for this! The amount of accidents I have heard about in the school parking lot alone is sad! I think Jack is a pretty good driver, but we still made him go do this.
It is $99 to hold a spot, but you can either donate it or get it back after the class. You have nothing to lose except a few hours of your time (a parent has to take the class with the teen).

Racing for Chad Bush 💚🏁

For those who never had the honor of knowing Chad, we want to share why this race means so much to us.

Chad loved racing—all of it. Whether he was behind the wheel, helping someone else race, or simply spending time at the track, he was where he wanted to be. He especially loved encouraging young racers and helping the sport grow.

Chad fought cancer on and off from age 14 to 43. Through it all, he rarely complained. He kept going, kept showing up, and inspired so many people with his never give up attitude.

In the middle of his own fight, Chad had an idea: he wanted to raise money to help others. That idea became the Chad Bush Clash. Over three years, our racing family raised nearly $30,000 for charity. We will always be grateful to Chad for bringing us together for that purpose.

Chad’s last request to his racing family was to “keep racing and be happy.” On October 9 and 10, we’ll do just that as we honor him once again.

If you have a favorite memory or photo of Chad or the races held in his honor, please share it in the comments. Invite your friends, come race, or just come spend time with us at the track. Racing is one big family, and we know Chad would love to see everyone together. 💚🏁

Cannot wait to honor our friend again! Not a day (especially a race day) goes by that we do not think and/or talk about all of the good memories with Bushy! He would be so dang proud that we have done what he said to do- keep racing and be happy!

This will not only be our last regular season race before the Southeast Nationals, but we have decide to make it the Chad Bush Memorial Race. Beautiful race day at Dirt For A Cause The Bullring 🏁
The guys finished 1, 2, 3 in stock appearing 🏆 Jack ran LJ's 72, and Mad ran his faithful 12 🚑

LJ raced the new SM1 custom outlaw chassis Patriot flat kart. This has been a big project at JLS Fab & Machine lately. He got it dialed in and looking awesome for its first time on the track! Parked it in victory lane!

Mad also ran the yard kart class in Tinkerbell (Mom's kart Dad built maybe 20 years ago) and finished 1st! Go Tink! 🩷

Blessed & Thankful for a great day making memories at the track!

Hey God.

Do you think my track friends know I pray they have a good week?

Do you think my competitors know that when I pray, I pray no evil over them, too?

That I pray they make it home safely, that their families are protected, and that their week is lighter than their weekend might have been?

Do you think my pit neighbors know that somewhere between unloading trailers, sharing tools, laughing, watching races, and talking about life… they became friends for life?

Do they know I prayed over their drive home tonight?

That I hope the road is kind to them as they head back north?

Because, God… they may call them competitors.

But I call them people.

People who chase the same dirt.
Who understand the late nights and early mornings.
The frustration of a bad night.
A blown engine.
A bad pass.
A front stretch flip.
Pulling to the center field.

Who know what it means to pour everything into something that lasts only a few minutes under the lights.

And when the engines go quiet and the trailers pull away, the competition stays at the track.

The friendship comes home with us.

So tonight, while everyone is scattered back across different states and different lives…

I’m praying over all of them.

The friend.
The competitor.
The stranger who became family.
The person who beat us.
The person we beat.
The slide job.
The family packed into the trailer beside us.

God, keep them safe.
Give them a good week.

Protect their homes, their families, their travels, and their dreams.

And if they ever wonder if I see them as more than the car beside me…

Tell them I do.

I see the family behind the driver.
The people behind the helmet.
The heart behind the competition.

And when the racing is over,
I’m still praying for them.
