Okay teams. We are 1 week away from our tournament at Grand Lake, OK. I will be texting out the permit for out tournament. Make sure you have this available during our tournament. The permit allows you to keep 5 bass 12" or larger. If you or your partner do not receive the permit by noon today, let me know.

We are just a few weeks away from out next tournament at Grand Lake. As it states in a previous post as well as our rules, if you fished the first 3 events, Grand will act as a qualifier for the 2026 BASS Team Championship. For those of you that plan to fish Grand but did not fish all 3 events leading up to it, this will act as just another tournament on the schedule. Please reach out with any questions or concerns about this.

On another note, everyone be safe today, sounds like we are in for a ride with the weather!

Stop number 3 at Perry Lake proved to be a very tough challenge for all but 1 team. We had our largest turnout with 31 boats so that was great. Winning the tournament was Jackson Opheim/Cayden Harmon with 18.22lbs of Kansas smallmouth winning $2,324! Second place was Jim Flack/Mark Wiesner with 12.97 on 3 fish anchored by a 5.79lb kicker. This earned them $1,089. Taking third place was Charley Bowen/Chris Faircloth with 3 fish for 12.72lbs with a giant 6.53lb big bass. They won $886. Fourth place was David Henning/Cody Bennett Hull with 9.31lbs winning $228.38. Fifth place was David Benfield/Zach Treinen with 8.42lbs winning $114.19. Finishing up the check line was Chris Cooper/Thomas Heinen with 8.20lbs winning $48.94. Thank you again to Lake Perry Yacht & Marina for letting us use the ramp facilities on such short notice.

We are going to have around 25 boats tomorrow so I wanted to emphasize a rule.

“Locations Off limits: Anywhere on the tournament lake may be fished except 50 yards of another contestant’s boat unless given permission from that contestant…”

If you pull up on an area where another boat is fishing, just be polite and ask. It doesn’t matter if they are fishing a different type structure.

One more thing, make sure you have a valid Kansas bass pass for this event which allows you to keep bass as small as 15”

Okay everyone I want to provide an update. Currently the state park ramp at Perry is unusable due to the high rater. We are looking to transfer to one of the army corps of engineer ramps. I won’t have any update until tomorrow. If we cannot use one or their ramps, we will have to postpone the tournament to May 17th.

I will alert everyone when I get an answer.

Alright everyone we are just a few days away from the next stop on the schedule- Perry Lake, KS.

Takeoff is planned at 5:45am. Be on the watwr and ready to go before then. We will not have my boat this weekend- we will be using John’s boat but we will park by the ramp for check in. See everyone there!
