Here is the latest update to the Dale Willey Automotive Anglers of the Year standings. Remember, the top 6 scores are counted and the winner gets free entries into next season (excluding the championship).

The 6th event for Kansas Buddy Bass is all wrapped up. Taking 1st place at Mozingo Lake with a 2 day total of 37.59lbs was Bradley Clevenger/Brooks Clevenger heading home with $1,414. Taking second place was a new team of Bret Snider/Cam Newton with 36.22lbs earning $536. Third place overall and catching the second biggest bass of the weekend was Jean-Richard Kiblinger/Jeff Nolte with 33.63lbs anchored by their 6.48lb tank. They walked away with $340. Rounding out the money line and also catching the biggest bass of the weekend was Cayden Harmon/Jackson Opheim with 31.75lbs with a 6.66lb monster. They won $410 for their efforts.

Our next event will be September 20th at Milford Lake,KS. Remember, Acorns is adding $250 to the big bass pot if the winners stay at their location.

We are less than 2 weeks away from our tournament at Mozingo lake. I want to touch on a few things, so everyone please read until the end!

1- Friday night we will have an optional dinner at Pizza Ranch. They have been kind enough to sponsor the club again this year.

2- The lake has a speed limit of 40mph. We are not the police, however, there is usually a Maryville Police officer with a radar gun out there. If you a ticket for speeding, you will be disqualified.

3- There are two posted off limits areas: the pump house cove (west side of the lake) and the back of the golf course cove. See pictures below. (Green is the ramp, red is off limits)

4- Since Mozingo is a fairly small lake, please be courteous. Our rules state no fishing within 50 yards of another competitor unless you get permission from that contestant. It doesn’t matter if you want to fish standing timber and they are fishing grass, 50 yards is 50 yards. Just do the right thing and ask.

5- The tournament hours are from 6:30am to 1:30pm both days. If everyone is in the water ready to go, we can take off a little earlier.

Here is the most recent update to the Dale Willey Automotive Anglers of the Year. Jon Stewart/Mark Moody have extended their lead, but it isn’t over yet. The top 6 finishes count towards the AOY so they can’t relax.

Our Truman Lake tournament is complete. Thanks to everyone that came out and sweated your you know what’s off. Taking first place and winning $1,800 was the team of Jon Stewart/Mark Moody with 18.49lbs anchored by their 6.14lb big bass. Taking 2nd place was Brad Clevenger/Brooks Clevenger with 15.66lbs earning $560. Third place was Charley Bowen/Chris Faircloth with 14.05lbs earning $191.25. Rounding out the check line was David Henning/Cody Bennett Hull with 13.73lbs taking home 95.63. Second big bass was Alex Leonard/Kreed Jones with a 5.15lb bass.

Next tournament will be a 2 day event at Mozingo Lake in August 22-23rd.

We are less than 2 weeks away from our event at Truman launching out of Osage Bluff. Just a heads up, Osage Bluff got hit pretty hard from the storm on the 4th. If anyone was planning on staying there, I would reach out and make sure everything is good to go. They said the ramp is still fine to use.

Here is the latest update to the Dale Willey Automotive Anglers of the Year standings. Mark Moody/Jon Stewart have taken over the too spot Just remember the top 6 tournaments count for the AOY so if you fish more than 6, you can drop lower scores.

Stop 4 is in the books. We had 25 boats come out and were treated with much better weather than predicted. Coming away with the win and punching their ticket to the Bassmaster Team Championship is Mark Moody/Jon Stewart with a 2 day total of 37.96lbs winning $1,940! Taking second place was the team of Kyle Herrman/Nicholas Herrman with 34.53lbs anchored by the big bass of the tournament at 5.27lbs. They won $1,000. Coming in 3rd place was Jackson Opheim/Cayden Harmon who had tons of outboard issues, but still found fish with 30.72lbs winning $430. Fourth place was Brett Darrenkamp/Colin Fitzgerald with 30.01lbs winning $189. They also had the second big bass of the event with a 5.26lb bass but didn’t enter the big bass side pot so they missed out on a little $$. Rounding out the check line was Richard Kiblinger/Greg Brown with 29.10lbs and also took 2nd place in the big bass side pot with a 5.15lb bass. They walked away with $321.

Okay teams. We are 1 week away from our tournament at Grand Lake, OK. I will be texting out the permit for out tournament. Make sure you have this available during our tournament. The permit allows you to keep 5 bass 12" or larger. If you or your partner do not receive the permit by noon today, let me know.
