Mariposa County Fair Rodeo Royalty

Mariposa County Fair Rodeo Royalty Our competition is open to girls ages 6-25, who live within 150 miles of our courthouse. Current Queen Desiree and Princess Emma will retain their titles.

It is our intent to produce a fair & balanced contest, & to foster an environment in which young ladies can grow confidence & skills as public speakers & horsewomen. The Mariposa County Fair is held over Labor Day Week End and on Sunday we have a Rough Stock Rodeo, produced by Rock’n M. Our Rodeo Royalty typically consists of Jr Princess, Princess and Queen and a Royalty Court. The contest and coo

rdination of our royalty is administered by the Mariposa Friends of the Fairgrounds Foundation, a 501c3 non profit. Application deadline for the contest is typically the first Sunday in June. Contestants should have good horsemanship skills, knowledge of Mariposa, the sport of rodeo and western rural lifestyle. Full details are included in the application and is available on line at mariposafair.com or mariposafof.com or mariposamtnriders.com

Unfortunately due to not having enough contestants to run a viable contest we will not be having a contest this year. If you would like these young ladies to make an appearance at your event please notify us! We are selling raffle tickets for the Friends of the Fairgrounds for a $1,000 give away at the Rodeo on September 4, 2022. You do not need to be present to win. Check out our fb page for updates. Today was our orientation and horsemanship qualifier for the 2026-2027 Mariposa County Fair Rodeo Royalty competition. I am so excited with this group of young ladies! We have two queen contestants, three princess contestants, and two jr. princess contestants. Stay tuned for official introductions, and keep a look out in our community for these girls; they’ve got raffle tickets for sale that you won’t want to miss!

What an absolute honor it was to be able to attend tonight’s sponsor appreciation round-up for the very first Merced Western Heritage Foundation PRCA rodeo! A huge thank you to everyone who had a hand in making this possible, including sponsors, contract personnel, and especially Doug and Kelley Aue, who have spearheaded this project. Just being in the room, I could tell that this is an event very near and dear to many people, and everyone is thrilled to see rodeo return to Merced after 15 years, introducing western heritage to a new generation of fans. Thank you so much for having me tonight; it was a wonderful evening and I can’t wait to attend the rodeo next weekend!
