💙 HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DALE. 💙

September 3rd will always be a special day around here — it’s Dale’s birthday. And somehow, very appropriately, it’s also National Beard Day. 😂🧔

If you knew Dale, you know the man could rock a beard. So it feels pretty fitting that the world has apparently designated a whole day to celebrate one of his signature looks. 😉

But today, we celebrate so much more than the beard.

We celebrate the guy who helped build this community. The friendships he made. The people he encouraged. The laughs, the workouts, the ridiculous conversations, and all of the little moments that made Dale… Dale.

While he isn't here to celebrate another trip around the sun with us, his presence is still very much a part of Farrell’s Maple Grove and the community he loved.

So today, let's all do "the most important stretch of the day" IYKYK ;) — in honor of Dale. 👏👏👏👏

🎉 HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JACKIE! 🎉

Today we need to give a very special birthday shoutout to someone who is quite literally THE BEST. ❤️

You won't find anyone quite like Jackie.

She knows your name. She knows your kids' names. She knows your dog's name. 😂 If you've told her something about yourself—even in passing—chances are, she remembers it.

And you can always count on her to have a witty comeback ready. She's the mother of all boys, so… you know where her head is at most of the time. 😉😂

But here's something many of you may not know:

Jackie volunteers her time at the studio.

So when you see her there in the morning…and then somehow she's back again in the evening…it's because she genuinely believes in this place and what it offers to people who need a community to help them build healthier habits and live healthier lives.

She's constantly dusting, organizing, vacuuming, fixing something, helping someone and—perhaps her most challenging responsibility—keeping my chaos in check. 😆

It's a tough job, but you'd never know it because she manages chaos (me) exceptionally well.

Jackie gives so much of herself to our Farrell's family, and our studio simply wouldn't be the same without her. Personally, I don't know what I would do without her.

So today, let's return some of that love.

🎡 CAN YOU GO TO THE STATE FAIR AND STILL STAY ON TRACK?

YES.

And please don't bring a container of grilled chicken and broccoli to the Great Minnesota Get-Together. 😂

The goal isn't perfection. It's learning how to enjoy your life without turning one fun day into a four-day free-for-all.

Try this:

🥚 Start with protein. Look for eggs, meat, Greek yogurt or another higher-protein option before diving into the sweets.

🍗 Choose grilled meats when you can. Chicken, turkey, steak, pork and other protein-forward foods can actually fit pretty easily into your day.

🌽 Grab the corn. Delicious, simple and definitely Fair-worthy.

🥤 Drink water throughout the day. Especially if it's hot and you're walking for hours.

🍪 Pick the treat you REALLY want. You don't need to eat something just because it's “State Fair famous.”

👯 SHARE! Want cheese curds? Have some! Split the basket. Want a cookie? Eat the cookie. You don't need 17 of them to know they're delicious. 😂

🚶 And WALK. You're going to get a ridiculous number of steps without even trying.

Most importantly:

One day at the State Fair isn't what changes your body. Your habits the other 364 days do.

Eat the cheese curds.
Drink the water.
Get the protein.
Walk the Fair.
Have the cookie.

Then wake up tomorrow and go right back to your normal routine.

THAT is balance. 🎡❤️

Where did everybody go?

For six months, our feed was filled with GLP-1 weight-loss updates.

20 pounds down.
30 pounds down.
New clothes. New pictures. New confidence.

But here's the conversation I don't think we're having enough:

What happens next?

What happens if the medication stops?

Did you learn how to eat in a way you can maintain?

Did you build muscle while you were losing weight?

Did you create an exercise routine?

Did you learn what your body needs to maintain your new weight?

There is absolutely nothing wrong with using medication when you and your healthcare provider decide it's appropriate.

But medication and education are not the same thing.

Because whether weight loss comes from a GLP-1, dieting, a challenge, or any other method, eventually the goal has to become:

How do I live here?

That's where strength training, nutrition, movement and sustainable habits matter.

And if you've regained weight after losing it before, shame isn't going to help you lose it again.

Skills will.

We don't just want to help you lose weight.

We want to teach you how to build a body — and a lifestyle — you actually know how to maintain.
