Alpacka Raft started the fall of 2000 as a collaboration between mother-son team Sheri and Thor Tingey. 20+ years later, every Alpacka Raft is handmade in our Mancos, CO factory, for adventurers by adventurers like you. We are a tribe of genuine, self-reliant and creative eccentrics, enthusiastic about unique adventure and passionate about the product. We recognize our packrafts give people an incredible freedom to explore; they are tools that help people actualize adventures, even ones yet to be imagined. And so we encourage explorers to use them with a beginner’s mind because there are no rules with a packraft, except to have fun, be safe, and to not take life too seriously. Always remember, each person has her or his own great journey to discover. Mission: Alpacka Raft seeks to design and hand craft the most innovative, premium packrafts available. We strive for a legacy of leadership, stewardship, and support that allows our community of diverse boaters a lifetime of use and adventure-driven fun.

The annual Alpacka Raft Calendar Contest is officially open! We are always looking for great photos to feature in the calendar, including winter paddling, big adventures and trips, small daily missions with your dog, family or kids, fishing, bikerafting, and all other types of fun with your Alpacka Raft. If you have any amazing photos from this season or past seasons, please send them in. PFDs in photos are preferred.

Ryan "Babybird" Lucas just finished a packrafting source-to-sea journey through Lake Clark National Park, Alaska, joined by Todd Wells, Marika Hintz, and Simon Rutherford.

Their journey began with a flight into a small glacial lake, where they hiked their way down to a safe put-in point before paddling down into Crescent Lake. Possibly a first descent? They think maybe?

An amazing round journey through a remote part of Alaska- mind-blowing scenery, incredible wildlife, and plenty of bear sightings! Check out the adventure at the Youtube video below.

🐾 The 2026 Dogs of Packrafting (and Cats Too!) Photo Contest winners are here!
