A new week is upon us and more football is to be played!
Glen Rose hits the road once again and will make a much longer trip this week to the confines of eastern Arkansas as the Beavers take on the Dewitt Dragons! Dewitt is a member of the rugged 4A-8 conference with the likes of 4A powers Warren and Stuttgart. The Dragons fell last week 48-20 to Class 3A Rison, so both teams Friday night will be looking for their first win of the season!
There is a small bit of history and connection between the two programs believe it or not! In 2006 and 2007, Glen Rose faced Dewitt in the same scenario, home and home non-conference games. The Dragons visited Glen Rose first in 2006 and left with a black eye after the Beavers pummeled Dewitt 41-12. 2007 resulted in a similar outcome as the Beavers won 35-14. After the win in 2007 at the time, it marked the first time Glen Rose had started a season 3-0 since 1990. 2007 of course would go on to be the best season in program history. Current head coach of Dewitt Jason Hathcock is also a 2004 Alumnus of Glen Rose.
Please see the graphics below for those who will be headed southeast to the game! There is no public entry to the stadium next to where the spirit squads and band will park. All spectators need to enter next to the home stands. We do not have a livestream link to share for those who aren't able to attend also. Be loud Friday night and help cheer on the Beavers to victory! GO BEAVERS!
