🌊🚨 EXPEDITION WEBINAR: S**G ROCKS 2026 BEHIND THE SCENES 🚨🌊

What really happens when an expedition heads into some of the most remote waters on Earth?

Join us for a rare, behind-the-scenes look at the 2026 S**g Rocks Expedition — where science, teamwork, and adaptability were tested at every turn.

Expeditions rarely go as planned… and this one was no exception.

From major logistical challenges and last-minute changes to shifting field plans on the fly, the team had to adapt constantly — and turn obstacles into opportunity.

The result?
🔬 Valuable biological specimens collected
🌊 Critical environmental research completed
🧪 Multiple ongoing scientific projects advanced
🌍 Real discovery in one of the most remote regions of the Southern Ocean

This is expedition science at its most real — unpredictable, demanding, and incredibly rewarding.

🎤 Featuring expedition team members:
• Jeff Bozanic – renowned technical diver, explorer, and polar diving specialist
• Tania Pineda – expedition scientist and field researcher
• Barbara Gentile – sharing expedition leadership insights and coordination perspective

Together they’ll take you inside the decision-making, problem-solving, and teamwork that made this mission successful — even when everything changed.

💡 Topics include:
• How expeditions adapt under pressure
• Field science in extreme environments
• Logistics of remote ocean exploration
• Turning setbacks into scientific success
• Lessons learned from the Southern Ocean

This is a must-watch for divers, explorers, scientists, and anyone fascinated by real-world ocean discovery.

🌊 Join us and experience expedition life from the inside.

🌟 NOW ON YOUTUBE 🌟

Missed our incredible webinar with Ashley Kidd from Sunflower Star Laboratory? The recording is now available on the Malibu Divers YouTube channel!

This was one of those talks that completely changes how you look at the underwater world…

Did you know sunflower sea stars can:
⭐ Grow up to 4 feet across
⭐ Have up to 24 arms
⭐ Have EYES at the end of every arm
⭐ Start life as tiny “spaceship” larvae
⭐ Help keep kelp forests healthy and alive

We also learned:
🌊 How freedivers are helping with eDNA science
🌊 How local SOCAL partners are supporting recovery efforts
🌊 Why these “fluffy stars” are so important to our oceans
🌊 How to report sightings and help conservation efforts

Huge thanks to Ashley Kidd for an inspiring and hopeful presentation.

🌟 NEXT FREE WEBINAR — WEDNESDAY at 5 PM PT 🌟

What happens when one of the ocean’s most important predators suddenly disappears?

Join us for a fascinating and hopeful conversation with Ashley Kidd, Conservation Program Lead & Co-founder of Sunflower Star Laboratory in Moss Landing, California.

🪸 “Shooting for the Stars” explores the dramatic decline of the critically endangered sunflower sea star (Pycnopodia), the devastating effects of Sea Star Wasting Syndrome, and the incredible restoration work now happening along the Pacific Coast.

Ashley will share:
⭐ Why sunflower sea stars are critical to kelp forest health
⭐ What scientists and aquariums are doing to help recovery
⭐ How divers and ocean communities can get involved
⭐ The future of kelp forest restoration and ocean resilience

Ashley’s background includes work in coral conservation, white abalone recovery, public aquariums, aquaculture, and large-scale collaborative ocean restoration projects.

If you love the ocean, diving, marine life, or conservation success stories, this is one you won’t want to miss.

Private training days are kind of the best. 🐥🌊

A little more personalized attention, a little more flexibility, a lot more confidence-building… and apparently now, wildlife spectators too. Even the ducks decided to join us in the pool today, cruising around like assistant instructors making sure everyone’s kicks were up to standard.

That’s the beauty of private training — we can slow things down, customize the experience, work through nerves, sharpen skills, and celebrate the little victories along the way. No pressure, just progress and good vibes.

Honestly, if the ducks approve of your buoyancy, you’re probably doing pretty well. 😄

Whether you’re brand new, getting refreshed, or leveling up your scuba or freediving skills, private training can make all the difference. Plus… bonus poolside entertainment included. 🦆💙

Every once in a while, everything just… clicks.

The students show up curious, open, and ready to take it all in. The ocean decides to be kind—clear, calm, welcoming. Logistics fall into place without a hitch (a small miracle in itself). And beneath the surface, the marine life shows up like it got the memo—gliding by at just the right moments, reminding us why we do this in the first place.

No stress. No scramble. Just flow.

It’s in these moments that teaching diving feels less like work and more like being part of something bigger—where people, ocean, and purpose move in perfect harmony. You can feel it in the quiet smiles behind the masks, the wide eyes after a first breath underwater, the unspoken “wow” that stays with you long after the dive ends.

Days like this are rare enough to be special, but familiar enough to keep us coming back.

Grateful for the ocean’s generosity. Grateful for students who trust the process. Grateful for those peaceful, perfect days when all is right with the world. 🌊💙

Peace.

Malibu Divers is looking for exceptional dive professionals 🌊

Since 1969, we’ve built something rare—an impeccable legacy of safety, innovation, and growth in both SCUBA and freediving. We’re not just another dive shop. We’re leaders, thinkers, explorers… and yes, we have a lot of fun doing it.

Now we’re looking for the right instructors to join our team.

If you’re a scuba or freedive professional who:
✔️ Leads with integrity and puts safety first
✔️ Loves teaching as much as diving
✔️ Brings curiosity, intelligence, and a sense of adventure
✔️ Thrives in a supportive, high-standard environment

…you might be exactly who we’re looking for.

This is a place where great instructors don’t just work—they grow, innovate, and become part of something that’s not easily replicated.

If you want to be surrounded by passionate divers, meaningful work, and a team that truly has your back, let’s talk.
