Hi everyone,

Longview Soccer Club will be hosting a Certified Referee Clinic on Saturday, August 29 at 10:00 a.m.

This is a great opportunity for players, parents, coaches, and other community members who are interested in becoming certified soccer referees. Participants must be at least 13 years old. There is a $90.00 fee to become a certified referee that is paid to the Washington referee association.

There are a few steps that must be completed before attending the in-person clinic:

Create a new referee account through Washington Youth Soccer Referees:
https://www.wareferees.org/MemberRegister.aspx
Complete the required online referee training modules.
Register for the August 29 Longview in-person clinic after completing the online requirements.
Space is limited to only 20 participants, and we currently have 5 registered, so I encourage anyone interested to begin the online portion and reserve a spot as soon as possible.

There are other referee clinics offered throughout Washington, but at this time most of the available clinics are two hours or more away from Longview. I try to make becoming certified locally a little easier by offering a clinic in Longview each fall and spring.

Certified refereeing is also a great next step for our older Micro Referees who are now 13 or older and ready to begin working higher-level games.

GU11: Good News: Girls U11 coach has been located

GU15: Bummer News: The Girls u15 coach had to step down
Good News: A coach has stepped up to TEMPORARILY fill in and coach - WE NEED A GU15 COACH.

BU11: Bad news - still NO COACH for Boys U11.

Longview Soccer has held their coach's meeting. Many coaches attended and several are still on vacation. Please be patient - our coaches should be reaching out over the next week. ALL our coaches and board members are volunteers. Some coaches have soccer experience and some will learn along with the kids. LSC is thankful to coaches and volunteers who help make the club happen!! So please remember these coaches have stepped up to volunteer their time to coach their children and yours. Lets all work together to foster a positive environment to have a great season!

Soccer Camp Week 3 starts next week! Come join some friends for some soccer fun. Never played before but currently signed up....Never played before...here's a great way to get exposed to soccer! Can't get enough soccer...come on down.
Registration opens daily at 10:30 am. Camp runs from 11a-2p. Some to Longview Soccer Club at 920 7th Ave. Our building has new paint outside (work in progress) thanks to Goldenton and new paint on the inside thanks to Rosas Painting and Landscaping! Come check it out. Only come one or two days or stay for all 4 days!
